I'm not a member of "a horde of Obama-bashers who lack regard for the facts". I hope you're not, either.

I don’t care if the candidate is republican or democrat, he’s running for president and therefore his pedigree is important. This guy is the absolutely less qualified person to run for this office, including Jimmy Carter. This is not wasted time, rather it puts him on the defensive.
I’m waiting for ONE, just ONE reporter to ask him about this.
There's more than citizenship at stake. Race and religion, for instance, might factor in if the actual birth certificate listed an Islamic name (or a name more Islamic than Hussein such as Muhammed) or a race for the father other than Black (e.g. Asian, or back then even "Mongoloid" was a race in some states).
The only issue I've been addressing on this thread is the question whether Obama is a natural-born American citizen and so is eligible to run for the Presidency. See posts #83 and #90 for follow-up.
As for the name on the birth certificate, 'Hussein' seems clear enough, it seems to me.

Not so, nikos. Condition (g) contains a proviso that refers to government or military service, but the condition is broader than that. See my explanatory comments in post #83 that follow the quoting of condition (g)...
So you are 100% sure that a baby born in Kenya to an American mother and an alien father, is considered to be a natural citizen of the UNited States?

Okay, let’s assume he was born in Kenya, then let’s explain the birth certificate. He would not need one. Therefore it may be possible that one does NOT exist. Thus the blocking out of the serial number, the most obvious.
Also, someone posted that they search through one of the vital stat search engines for Barack Obama Honolulu and got nothing.
Someone in Hawaii can go down to the local newspaper and search the matter of record pages from the local newspaper for Aug 4, 1961 and see if the Obama or Durham is listed there.
The more I look at his BC the more I’m convinced that it’s a phony. The serial number is blocked and the different font. The father listed as African is another.
I’ve said this before, if someone questioned your birth record, you’d find papers, pictures, witnesses etc. This has been an issue now for months. I think they waited until after sealing up the nomination to then release the BC.
I therefore am certain that something stinks here.
He better lay this to rest soon, otherwise it’s going to pick up steam. Alot of things were posted by all of us today and alot of questions asked.
Perhaps, but I admit that I'm curious as to *why* Obama hasn't simply published his original. That reason would be nice to know.
Hawaii is out in the middle of the ocean. The middle of nowhere. If you believe Obama was born outside American territory show the flight where his baby self and his parents arrived in Hawaii from overseas. The burden of proof is on us, nor him. If we cannot prove he was born overseas then he was born in Hawaii. And is an American citizen. Game over.

The 5 and 10 year limits I mentioned apply to confer US citizenship if one born in his time period was born overseas. His mom (the Obama Momma - LOL!) CLEARLY fails that test, so he HAD to be born in the USA, if he is claiming to be a citizen. If he can’t show a valid Hawaiian birth certificate, then he cannot serve as president.

If not the US, how did he get a US passport? He had to have one when he moved to Indonesia and came back here, didn't he? I had to provide a copy of my birth certificate to get mine. Do you have one? What proof of citizenship did you provide?

The blacking out of the number raised a flag, when I first saw this.
