Look at it. Its lovely, isnt it? Theres a much more detailed picture of it here (use the resize gadget to enlarge it).
But, as a graphics expert shows conclusively, it is a fake that somebody has produced using a graphics program.
So where is the real one? Does it exist? Is he really a native-born American, as the constitution requires?

Junk science disredited in the 1930s and 1940s. Reminds me of the book I had in elementary school that talked about how we would "be on the moon by the end of the century", and that we had 48 states. This was in the 1980s.
Please understand the basis for the claim that it is a fake. It is NOT that it should have looked like a copy of the original 1961 BC. It is that it is a FAKE of the modern document HI uses.
freeky. Like one mind ;-}
Anybody FReeping from Hawaii? Go get a birth certificate, and post it. The comparison should be very easy then.
“freeky. Like one mind ;-}”
Ditto that. Ack!
Any Hawaiian Freepers out there who could scan a recent copy of their Hawaiian birth certificate (blocking out the name)? And/or a Hawaiian birth certificate from around 1961?
You know that struck me too. Since when did “African” become a race? That is a nationality, not race. For that matter, what would a Hawaiian be? Asian?
Wouldn’t there be someone at a press or public affairs office for that department in Hawaii who could confirm whether said documents are produced in such a fashion? Are there any Hawaii Freepers or members of the press who could make this inquiry?
I think the point here is that this in NOT a laser-printed copy of an original or even and updated version, but a piece created with a graphics program.

JimRob’s using his brainwaves to signal us... I tell ya... :)
Don’t shoot the messenger dude.
Hey, I remember that! Yeah, like Disneyland on the moon or something crazy and everyone would be wearing shiny metallic jumpersuits and Russia would be the world superpower and Nevada would be a wasteland because we all nuked ourselves to death.
Boy, I loved going to school in the 80’s. hee
The issues on this one are:
Why is the certificate # blacked out? I can only think of one reason and that is then anyone could request a verification of the specific information on this document. They will not tell you info you do not know but they will confirm info you do know such as “Was certificate #123456 issues with the name “Barack Osama Obama” ?
Yeah, after reading the arguments for it being fake, I’m leaning toward that. It might not be a reprint, but a fake period.
Wish we could get a real copy...
BO had a passport when he traveled outside of the US before he became a Senator so at one time in his life he had to produce a real birth certificate. Therefore he IS a US citizen. Whether is middle name his Mo or not is another story.
I've read down thread and come back to this post to inform you that yours isn't even close to the lamest (lack of) observation. Congrats.
DEAD ISSUE! No one is claiming this is a circa 1961 certificate. It is today's format when you make a request.
that says county, not country.
My fave were the moving sidewalks that would take over New York City. Among the adults, there seemed to be alot of concern about how the Japanese were going to take over the United States.
“BO”
*snort*
I like that nickname. BO for president.
Yes, I am still in the fourth grade.
