To vote for Barrack Hussein Obama and his dark vision of America is to vote for defeatism and negativity. It is willfully turning your back on the hope and promise of this wondrous meritocracy we call America. It is buying into the outrageous lie that America itself is the problem, and that only by changing the whole concept of Americanism can we hope to cure the evils of this world.

I'm waiting for McCain's apologists here on Free Republic (those that would accept cap and trade and amnesty, just as long as we stay in Iraq) to emerge from the woodwork and tell me that unless I'm voting for McCain, I'm voting for Obama and therefore voting to destroy America.

I have a hard time with either candidate - Obama or McCain. Either one I feel is bad for America. The dilemma is: Do we want America to get trashed by a Democrat or a Democratic-Republican? It would be better if it was a Democrat who did it rather than a Republican. The Dem’s talk about a repeat of the Bush administration. Obama would be a repeat of the Carter administration but a lot worse .....IMHO ....

Close. Let me put it into clear language. He's an anti-American White-hating racist who will do whatever it takes to bring White America and capitalism down. He and his George Soros-financed compadres want to deal a death blow to the United States. He stands a very good chance of doing so as things now stand. He and his "hate-buddy" Jeremiah Wright are cut out of exactly the same cloth.

I agree...although, his “blackness” does come into play when you consider that he is a disciple of black liberation theology. So on top of all of the radical socialist stuff, you also have a highly racist perspective that skews his worldview to favor like-minded “people of color.” Dangerous in and of itself.

On another note: Far and away my favorite decade for music is the ‘60s. It is also the decade that, in my opinion, brought about the most wrong-headed, harmful social changes, the reverberations of which are still very much being felt, in many respects even more so than in the ‘60s themselves. The bad seeds were sown then and in the subsequent decades bore their rotten fruit.

I’m not sure how I reconcile loving the music that came out of the Summer of Love and Woodstock, for example, but loathing the social changes that came from essentially the same crowd. But oh well, there you have it. Now excuse me while I put on some Jefferson Airplane... :D
