I think he’s right-on. Despite what the pundits say, I never thought Obama believed a word of Rev. Wright’s hate. Of course the political reason for joining is just as bad, showing he’s willing to prostitute his religious associations for political power.

And his children went there because their parents forced them to attend.

I'd have to agree. It goes a bit beyond Michelle, though. Once Obama went to that church, the people there became "the Black Community" for him, in the way that he identified Jeremiah Wright with the "Community" that he couldn't turn his back on. But if Michelle hadn't liked it, Barack wouldn't have stayed.

I think that Obama joined Trinity because he needed the political connections that membership could bring him. The Hate America Express --- Membership Has Its Privileges
This is what I have thought all along. Obama is an empty suit with some powerful ambition. To reach that ambition, he first needed to establish his bonifides the radical left gatekeepers on Chicago's South Side. The message of hate and ignorance didn't bother him at all as long as it got him to the next step on the ladder.
In many ways, he not different than the Clinton's or 90% of the other politicians in this country. Situational philosophy -- expose whatever dogma that will get you ahead. If Obama were from flyover country, he would have pretended to be conservative.

To be fair to Obama, I dont believe that he necessarily believes in the bigotry regularly preached from the Trinity pulpit and echoed by the cheers of the packed house. You be fair, I'll be accurate: Hussein Obama has nothing but contempt for his white audiences. Just watch him. He does not like Whitey, not one little bit.

To be perfectly honest, Obama strikes me as the kind of man who has no deep beliefs at all and who says what he needs to say and joins whereve he needs to join to get to where he wants. So Obamanure is a spineless chameleon.
