CNN's Lou Dobbs: 'When Does George Bush Leave Office?'
NewsBusters.org ^ | 5/29/2008 | Michael M. Bates

Yesterday's edition of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight included a report from Kitty Pilgrim on product recalls from China and the administration's efforts to reduce importation of unsafe products. "Bush administration officials are going through the charade of tougher enforcement with few results," according to correspondent Pilgrim. Using the term "charade" prepared viewers for where this segment was going:

KITTY PILGRIM, reporter: HHS Secretary Leavitt says he is optimistic the Chinese government will approve the opening of three FDA offices in China some time soon. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says if recalls continue at the current rate, it will be a 70 percent increase over last year. Lou?

LOU DOBBS, host: Secretary Leavitt says he's optimistic.

PILGRIM: That's what he said. And it's been an ongoing discussion, but there's no approval...

(CROSSTALK)

DOBBS: Three offices in China...

PILGRIM: In China.

DOBBS: ... for 11 inspectors for $300 billion worth of products.

PILGRIM: The numbers don't quite work, do they?

DOBBS: They don't seem to work maybe just for all of us. I'm sure they work for Washington because they think we're a bunch of idiots. How big a fool do you suppose Secretary Leavitt is to think that we're this stupid?

PILGRIM: He says that the Chinese manufacturers should be held more accountable and he would like them to put the FDA certification, the Chinese government to put the FDA certification on to say they meet FDA standards which is his general approach to the problem.

DOBBS: That's brilliant. That goes along with this administration's request that Wall Street regulate itself. When does George Bush leave office?

Who’s Dobbs pulling for in this election? Since he’s looking forward to Bush leaving office then he must have someone in mind (who’s actually running for Prez) he thinks will do a much better job.

When does George Bush leave office?

Not soon enough for me! I suppose it will be after he signs the LOST Treaty and whatever else he can do to destroy our sovereignity!

Btw, this is an excerpt from this article.

"The US Senate is currently considering ratifying the UNCLOS or LOST treaty. The Senate has been given incorrect information by its proponents regarding the securing of possibly massive oil and gas resources in the international waters area of the Arctic Commons, beyond the US 200 nautical mile Alaska EEZ limit. The Senate has been told that signing on to LOST will secure large portions of the Arctic Commons area for the US. Whereas, in reality, nothing could be further from the truth."

Any official signing the sea treaty should be impeached.

Jorge Bush can’t leave office fast enough to suit me. I don’t care who succeeds him at this point since we’re screwed whoever it is.

Well, he’s free to say it because it’s a commentary show, NOT a news show.

Then again, who watches his show?

Can't wait for CNN to return to their “it's raining puppies” coverage of a Obama Presidency.

They must be exhausted by their BDS.

And anxious to get back to their Clinton coverage of “no mistakes by gov bureaucrats, ever, peace, prosperity, rainbows, normal coverage of natural disasters as nature, the world loves us, government is perfect, good, and only here to help”.

If Hussein Obama becomes President, we will all be longing for Bush. But your point is well taken: whether its Captain Queeg, Hussein Obama, or Hitlery, the American people are screwed.

FDA offices in China is just another Bush scam, pretending to care about his country, but still beholden to his Chinese bankers.

To “regulate” goods they should be inspected at importation, paid by the importer.

Are there FDA offices in other foreign countries? If not, it seems like there shouldn't be any in China, either. Seems like more of the move American factories to China syndrome that the current nobles have dropped on US. Rather than opening more offices there, I suggest moving the factories back here where they belong.

Can we throw all three overboard?

Instead of the inflexible FDA going to China, why don't they limit themselves to America? Their successes here, are often highly questionable. Why should they expand into other countries? There is often much to be suspicious of , of the FDA's true intentions.

Let other countries develop their own watch dog agencies. They may come up with much better solutions. China's medicine has already taught those who are willing to learn, much. The FDA and the the American Medical Association would probably attempt to snuff the Chinese medical approaches out.

When one considers the amount of profits made by pharmaceutical corporations from what they have learned from other country's medical knowledge, this could be understood as just another attempt to monopolize the information, and knowing the FDA, to outlaw pharmaceutical plants which people could grow or buy themselves. For example Valarium; Valerian (Valeriana officinalis, Valerianaceae) is a hardy perennial flowering plant. Many people find that the dried herb is very effective as a home remedy (cheap and easy)for calming and even sleep. It is non addictive. From this plant the pharmaceutical developed "Valium (diazepam)" Which is not only habit forming, but with long term use, which is how it is often prescribed has been blamed for psychotic episodes of great violence. So the FDA is try to out law Valarium and all other herbs, as if they know better than anyone else. They do not know better. In fact, they are under the influence and are therefore protecting corporate pharmaceuticals at the expense of the consumer.

We need to develop a system of inspecting imports, here on our shores. We need not be responsible for what another country attempts to export.

Health freedom action alert: FDA attempting to regulate supplements, herbs and juices as "drugs" When it comes to health freedom, this is the FDA's end game. A new FDA "guidance" document, published on the FDA's website, reveals plans to reclassify virtually all vitamins, supplements, herbs and even vegetable juices as FDA-regulated drugs. If the FDA experts, in their infinite wisdom, decide that these things are to be reclassified, they will essentially be outlawed, stripped from the shelves, and regulated out of existence. Anyone who dares to manufacture, promote or sell such products may be branded a criminal and rounded up by armed FDA agents who have a well established history of suppressing natural medicine.Read the document yourself. Well guess what! Bush probably can't leave office soon fast enough to suit himself. And I can't blame him...

Yes, by all means, lets get Obama or McCain in office. Then we go from the Bush POTUS, who at least pretends to want border security and smaller government, to a POTUS that openly welcomes illegal immigrants and gleefully wants as much government as possible.

When does George Bush leave office?

Same time as you Lou. Around 5:30 to avoid the rush hour traffic.
