Presidential Psychosis

The general definition of psychosis is defined as a mental state which is characterized by losing touch with reality, among other things. Many words have been written in the past 16 years or so about our 42nd president and his lawful spouse, and some even touched upon this subject. I hope to add my own observations to this timely topic.

If physicists search for a unifying theory to explain the universe, then political scientists should look upon these two denizens of the lowest strata of power hungry crawlers as the political equivalent.

The unifying thread is an almost incomprehensible obsession to become president of the United States. Nothing else matters, nothing else can possibly matter. The question for me is: What is the probability that two people with similar mental disorders would find each other and embark on the same obsessive quest for power?

To answer this question it is first important to define which disorders are involved. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, psychopathy is a general term for a range of personality disorders.

Here is a list of symptoms for a few of these personality disorders. I ask the reader to decide which range of symptoms reflect Mr. Clinton or Mrs. Clinton’s personality.

Narcissistic personality disorder –

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is “special” and unique
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement
6. is interpersonally exploitative
7. is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
8. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitude

Paranoid personality disorder –

1. suspects, without sufficient basis, that others are exploiting, harming or deceiving him or her
2. is preoccupied with unjustified doubts about the loyalty or untrustworthiness of friends or associates
3. is reluctant to confide in others because of unwarranted fear that the information will be used maliciously against him or her
4. interprets benign remarks or events as threatening or demeaning
5. persistently bears grudges, i.e., is unforgiving of insults, injuries or slights
6. perceives attacks on his or her character or reputation that are not apparent to others and is quick to react angrily or to counterattack
7. has recurrent suspicions, without justification, regarding fidelity of spouse or sexual partner

Ok, forget the last one. But most objective observers will recognize some of these traits in the impeached ex-president and his devoted first lady. (Not to mention Mr. McQueeg, but that’s another story...)

In recent days the world caught a glimpse into the soul of the junior senator from New York, and it wasn’t a pretty sight. Many saw the sad but true nature of these people many years ago. Others are just now having the scales lifted from their eyes.

It is written that it’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you, it’s what comes out. If that is true, then Mrs. Rodham defiled herself on Friday when her inner monologue became public. On a live streaming interview with an editorial board.

When I was a kid my mother sometimes would say that she could read my thoughts on my forehead whenever I was trying to lie. I believed her. But I was relived when I became old enough to know that it wasn’t possible. How horrifying for Mrs. Clinton to realize that we all just read her’s...
