PLEASE yourself. If you have no voice in your own political destiny, you aren't free, you're a slave, and your King can kid you all he wants. If you're dim enough to believe him, that doesn't take the yoke off your neck; it merely makes you a stupid, ignorant, or sleeping slave, but a slave nevertheless.

Living where I live I have no voice in my own political destiny, as ytou put it. Oh, I do have an illusion of having a voice, but, as it stands, my one vote doesn't count for anything, my representatives, from the city councilman to the U.S. Senator do not represent me, the judges free dangerous criminals and declare that pderasts can merry, etc, etc. A wise monarch is better than a Congress filled with fools!

Keep in mind that Milton Friedmnan wrote his classic book Free to Choose about Hong Kong (among other things) under the British rule.
