Well, you can tell by my posts - I’m a huge conservative and have read and posted on FR(though I haven’t posted a lot)since 2004 and before.

I understand about 9-11 not happening again but these terrorist are waiting. There could be cells here (and IMHO very likely) hanging out in our cities just waiting. I’m sure many got here illegally and legally. THIS IS A MAJOR problem. To be protecting Iraq’s borders and NOT our own is UNACCEPTABLE and no matter what anyone says this is the MAIN reason I do not support the current President anymore. He also has NOT done anything to stop illegals or close our porous borders and that IS the President’s NUMBER 1 JOB. Also, the two Patriots sitting in prison cells in Texas for doing their jobs on the border, makes me want to up-chuck daily. So defend the President all you want (which is your right) but I cannot and have not for some time now. That doesn’t mean we should disrespect him but that also doesn’t me I HAVE to be behind him when I believe he is wrong (which at this point is 80% of the time)

As to what I will do in November.

I will either write-in or vote for the Constitution Party.
I have never voted other then Republican but I can’t not in good conscience vote for McCain and if this gets Obama in then the Republicans have only themselves to blame. Through the Myers debacle and the immigration bill getting slammed down - a message was sent to them for the last 3 years - and it has fallen on deaf ears — donations are down - Excuse me but if they don’t have a clue that they should be running on a conservative agenda then that’s NOT my fault... they should get a clue. I totally respect that you are going to vote McCain but I also have a right not to vote for him.

Well, it’s not that I am voting for McCain because I want to.

America, folks, is whether anyone here cares to acknowledge the fact, STILL a two party system.

There might be other parties in the running, but, honestly, ALL of you know that NONE of them, not even a write in vote by popular vote will get the election.

It isn’t just my opinion here that a vote for a third party or a write-in candidate is a wasted vote, it’s a fact. An absolute fact.

There are no circumstances under which I can see (even if we ALL voted for the same write-in) that the write-in would get the presidency.

The two parties, the GOP and the Dems have it locked out so no one else can play, and only those appearing on the ballot can win.

Most states won’t even allow a write in (ok many states).

When it comes right down to it, I can predict with great accuracy what will happen.

Everyone that doesn’t want to vote for McCain (and won’t vote obama) will vote for a third party or a write-in candidate and in so doing will simply spread the voting thinner and thinner.

The DEMOCRATS however, have an absolute LOCK on what they are doing. They will vote for Obama. Liberals, socialists, communists, and probably a good portion of those claiming to be Libertarians (because many aren’t actually Libertarians and only claim that title because they don’t want to do battle with Conservatives on the street and bars, and in the post office, or at school). That means the majority of votes will end up in Obama’s lap.

While the folks who USED to be part of the GOP and feel disenfranchised, those who are just simply pissed off (and voice it here on and off) will either NOT vote at all or they will do the write-in thing or third party vote.

So...

At this point, I am saying that regardless of whatever your (or my) reasons are, what happens will be on all our heads, and there isn’t one of you complaining about McCain, or the President here that clearly understands how our political system works. Instead a whole lot of hot headedness on everyone’s part is going to be responsible for GIVING the Democrats both the Presidency and most seats in the Senate and House.

Furthermore, MY personal opinions of McCain have been posted here, so I don’t have to reiterate them over and over to defend my position on this. I don’t like him, at all, and I’ve posted my reasons for this in the past.

I was a hard core Fredhead (and still am) and if I thought it would do a damned bit of good I’d write HIM in, or I’d vote for the “Constitution party” (Ron Paul, right?) but Paul is a KOOK. If he’d kept his mouth SHUT and not said the US was responsible for 9-11 I’d have taken everything else he said and said “Good man”.

But that one thing is enough for me to have called it quits on him long ago.

Thompson and Hunter were the ONLY two actual Conservatives, and they dropped out through whatever background coercion took place and I’m very, very VERY “pissed” at the GOP for offering up someone like John McCain.

But, should I stay home, not vote or give my vote to the Democrats? HELL NO.

You folks do whatever you like, as you all will.

But mark my words this election will be the worst in history and it will be due to a whole lot of hot headed people being pissed off for McCain.

I DO stand on principles, but I intend to work from WITHIN the system and vote for the best offered, and then fight him when he goes the wrong way.

I’d urge the same thing of all of you.
