EXACTLY! Vote for a Third Party presidential candidate instead and conservatives on the local, state and federal level. They are our firewall.

Well, you do have that option as well. However, I take it you weren't around for the Clinton/Bush/Periot debacle and you haven't learned from history that voting for a third party does NOTHING to help America.

HOW? If he won't listen to us when he needs our vote, why should he listen to us when he's in power?

How? By working on LOCAL elections, and Senate/Congressional seats. Good grief. Local POLITICS and the fights there are absolutely more important than the Presidential election. Don't believe me? Look at the deadlock we have had for some time now in Congress. Democrats preventing the President from doing anything, and so forth. America wants it that way, so we control the House and Senate next. Boy, THAT will really solve the problem and send a nasty wake-up call to the GOP.

Yes, at least it is a solution of SOME sort. I don't see you or any of the other naysayers offering ANYTHING other than "I won't vote for McCain". Until you have another solution I suggest all of you STFU and stop telling the rest of us what to do for a change or berating us because we're at least thinking this through. Vote or don't vote, but don't tell ME how to vote.

Sorry, I've gone over to the Dark Side -- I have had enough of these Democrat-Lites.

What precisely is the "dark side"? How about you let us all in on the secret if its so good? Because you don't have a CLUE do you?

First good advice I've read - been doing that for years and have developed a solid feeling of how the German rear guard out of Stalingrad felt.

This is advice I've been giving, and doing for YEARS, long before some of the people here ever entered into politics. Too many people think that the way to go is to let the country fold, even I thought that for a time. Let the dems get in office and screw it up. Nope, I fought too long and hard for my country and I won't stop now because I'm tired of it. Neither should anyone else. The Liberals won't stop pushing socialism down our throats until we fight back and kick their asses. It's time to do that. But NOT voting for McCain gives them a win. Voting a third party will give them a win, staying HOME gives them a win. NOTHING will give them a loss at this point except to pick the "lesser of two evils" and fight that one every step of the way. You're not getting a third party candidate that is a conservative to run, so don't believe that hype, and sure as hell don't think Ron Paul is getting in office. He's kooky too.

I love you instant experts who have a few presidential elections under your belt and know it all. I've been voting Republican since the Nixon-Kennedy days. As far as the "Periot" comment, that old bromide has been discounted time and again, but makes a great one-liner to knock the Third Party voters. Do you honest-to-God think things would have been different under Dole? Dole would not have left a trail any snail would be proud of like Clinton did, but that is it. Clinton betrayed his base by passing NAFTA and welfare reform. Dole would have done that as Republican policies.

Until you have another solution I suggest all of you STFU . . .
Sorry, no can do. It's called Free Speech - evidently an alien concept to you.

. . . and stop telling the rest of us what to do for a change or berating us because we're at least thinking this through.
Thinking it through? See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2015218/posts for the latest stunt your boy has pulled. At what point do you say, "ENOUGH of this horsecrap!"?

Vote or don't vote, but don't tell ME how to vote.
Where did I say that? I'm pointing out that your type of "lesser of two evils" (which I used to do) is not going to change the leftward drift of the GOP.

What precisely is the "dark side"? How about you let us all in on the secret if its so good? Because you don't have a CLUE do you?
Sheesh. I didn't say it was a secret or that it was that great. Look in the mirror for the clueless. The "Dark Side" is taken on this board as anyone who does not support the GOP candidate.

Liberals won't stop pushing socialism down our throats until we fight back and kick their asses.
And we do that by voting for McCain?

It's time to do that. But NOT voting for McCain gives them a win.
Voting for McCain still gives them a win - maybe moreso that a Dem getting in. If McCain gets in and pushes his Dem-Lite projects, the Pubbies will fall into lockstep out of Party loyalty, if nothing else, with the exception of a few principled Conservatives. If the Dems get in, the GOP will be more likely to fight the same proposals, not because they are against them, but because they will try and continue the charade of being an opposition party.
