The "federal minimum wage was never intended to be a "liveable" wage.
Limbaugh has the best arguement I have heard against the "federal minimum wage". He states (in summary) that if $7.00/hour, or $8.00, or whatever is better than whatever it is now, then why don't we just make it $25/hour, or even $30/hour? That way everyone would be "rich" and wouldn't have to suffer!

Of course that would be ridiculous, you'd say, but what then, would be a "reasonable" wage? Well, of course, where would it stop?

Limbaugh is much better then me in describing the fallacy of such a "minimum wage", but you get the idea....

Yep, the easiest way to destroy ANYONE’S argument for a higher minimum wage is to say, “If $7/hr is a good idea, then why not $9/hr? Why not $12/hr? Why not $50/hr?” At some point they will say that it is just too much and you simply ask why such an arbitrary amount.
