Gee, those are all nice names. None of them sound like the names you would give a thug or a slut. A refreshing change.

Always ask yourself, when naming a baby girl: what if she wants to become a Supreme Court justice, a nun, a cardiothoracic surgeon, a concert pianist, a president? Does she have the sort of name that will make people think she is cute, or does she have one that will convey competence and dignity? She won’t be three months old forever.

The name I hate is “Cameron” because said child will have issues in a Spanish-speaking society, as said name means “shrimp” in Spanish.

I remember when Time magazine was ga ga in 1993 when the top girl baby name was "Hillary."

Evidently that mountain climber guy was popular that year.

I think you are right about how the names recycle; I named my oldest daughter after her great grandmother, and my middle daughter after a great aunt- I did NOT want to name them trendy names- I had planned for years to name my first girl Amanda because I liked that name- but it was trendy by the time I actually had my first so I ditched it for old family names- When my girls were little they complained that the only people they ever met that had their names were old ladies.LOL I named my youngest with a name that I just liked, but it isn’t real common.

Ah, you’re right - camaron. LOL! “Cameron” is also another name that has fourteen stupid phonetic spellings, and is used interchangeably for boys and girls.

You're right. It became more popular in 1992 - the year the Clinton's infected the nation - and then went down from there.

I remember Time going ga ga over the increase in the popularity of the name - which they attributed to the Clintons (which I believe was true). Liberal parents were giving their little bundle of joy the name of their goddess.

Thanks for the clarification.

I suspect your nick isn’t a very popular name for a kid since Hitchcock finished with it.

You having twin??? Congratulations.

During Mass this morning we had a special treat. We have been praying for a family in our parish who had triplet, over a year ago. They were born on her 26 week of pregnancy, each weighing in a just over 1 1/2 pounds.

They brought all three to Mass this morning. One is still hooked up to an portable o2 tank, but they looked just wonderful

The lady who mentioned about Heaven backwards being a name said that a very popular Christian singer had a song by that name. I never heard of it, I’ll have to check it out sometime on youtube.

“And I don’t think there’s a single John or Mary in our local school system...”

Some good friends named their daughter Mary, so she would have a unique (but not ridiculous) name.

Thank you! So glad to hear a happy ending for the triplets. :*)
We aren’t due until July 22—right now my little girl weighs about 3 lbs and my little boy weighs about 3.25-3.5 lbs so they are a good size already. God has blessed us with basically an easy pregnancy (despite being high risk for several factors) and God willing it will stay that way! I’m 30 weeks on Tuesday. Need these little ones to ‘cook’ for another 8 weeks or so, at least. :-)

Now 9 (tomorrow!) and healthy as a horse! After God’s miraculous healing, of course. LOL
