I read FEAR OF FLYING years ago, back when I was impressionable enough to fall for the liberal claptrap. I will admit, the book was interesting. Seen today, though, it is completely amoral -- just like Jong herself -- and tedious.
These liberal writers are great stylists. Their writing is always fun. But their thinking is distorted. Maybe it's the nature of the beast --in the secular world, anything goes, so these yuppie types have an easy grace about them. But they have absolutely no content.
I may enjoy the writing itself, then after finishing it realize that I've been had.
Which is why I don't take Jong seriously. As soon as I saw her name in this post, I knew what direction her article was heading.
