Wouldn’t surprise me if one of the imams out there actually said something like this.
Most of the old Soviet states that are sticking with Russia in the SCO have populations that are mostly Islamic. Even Russia itself has a high percentage of Moslems in its population.
And BTW, the satire pretense doesn’t negate the truth that the Russian leadership is cozy with governments like that of Iran.
