David Cook Singing “Always Be My Baby” (American Idol)

-snip-

I don’t think anything will ever top David Cook’s performance of “Billie Jean” but his take on “Always Be My Baby” was pretty special. It was an emotional performance for David whose brother, who is suffering from brain cancer, was in the audience tonight.

You American Idlers are really obsessed, aren’t you?

Obsessed? No not really, I enjoy the show and find it entertaining. I just wonder why if you find the show so trite you bother to post on a thread pertaining to said same show.

I posted one innocuous comment about how another show was much better than Idol last night. I am then attacked by jack -booted, rabid Idol fanatics who have no sense of irony or nuance.

Geeez, you guys, lighten up. I loved American Idol two years ago, but the past two years have been awful. It’s time for Idol to fold up its tent. Paula needs rehab, Randy needs a vocabulary lesson, and Simon needs nothing. He is set for life. It’s time to let it go. It is now a self-parody.

His rendition of Billy Jan was awesome. I was floored, and my wife (who can’t stand to even hear the name Michael Jackson) sat there with her mouth open in shock.

I d/l’d it, edited out the vid, and converted it into an MP3 for her, now it’s in her phone.

Idol is such a nice change from the usual kill’em, bang ‘em up, revisionist crap. I’m a fan.

“keep making a fool of yourself. And get that life.”

Coming from an American Idol extremist like yourself...that’s pretty funny.

So be it.

I’m hooked on Celebrity Fit Club myself. NOW THAT’S GOOD CLEAN TRASH!

always have to have the last word?

You don’t get it. It has nothing to do with American Idol. I posted this thread because of the emotional issue with his brother. Or did you miss that part?
You feel compelled to continue to drop in here and antagonize and muddy the thread, which speaks volumes about you. Give it a rest. You should be ashamed of yourself.

“You should be ashamed of yourself.”

Sorry, I’m not.

“always have to have the last word?”

not always

Wow, nice smarmy little post ya got going there.

I don’t watch the show (but do enjoy a fine performance) so I was pinged here. Please, try to be nice.

You have the freedom not to read any thread. If other’s enjoy it, just don’t read it. It’s not hard.

We all have our own interests. Thanks for the ping RDTF

Haven’t heard of that one. But, usually, if it has celebrity in the name, or is about celebrities, I look the other way.

Shoot! I can’t get it to play.

I’ll troll YouTube for a while and see if I can find it.

You know, Ann, there’s a lot of reasoned people who read threads, whether they specifically post on them on FR and it’s seems as though you are way out of line here.

Wandering into a thread and spouting that all the posters on it are, to paraphrase, dorks, makes you out to be quite an uncool, ill-mannered, goon. I’ll stop way short of calling you a cyber-bully, because you’re not. But come on, there are hundreds of on-going, active threads here on FreeRepublic. Why don’t you keep your opinions to yourself, if they add nothing to the discussion?

I liken it to a person at a public park, seeing different picnics and walking up to one in particular and telling everyone there that they’re fools for having potato salad because macaroni salad is so much better.

It’s okay to have an opinion, but on some occasions, shouldn’t you just keep your opinion to yourself?

“I don’t watch the show (but do enjoy a fine performance)”

Then you should continue not watching the show.

“You have the freedom not to read any thread.”

I also have the freedom to read any thread. This is still America, isn’t it?

“We all have our own interests”

When I mentioned one of my interests in my first post, I was immediately jumped upon by these sweet and sincere Idlers.

Nice try, though, netmilsmom.

Thank you. I came late to the picnic and was shocked by the rant.

You mean this....

“The Biggest Loser finale was much better than this tripe.”

Calling the show this thread is about “tripe” is not quite nice either.

And yes, you have the freedom to read any thread, as the other readers have the ability to hit the abuse button on rude posters.

And that’s all I have to say.

“And yes, you have the freedom to read any thread, as the other readers have the ability to hit the abuse button on rude posters”

I have not been rude to anyone. I have just responded to the abuse from you guys. I also have the ability to hit the abuse button. However, I don’t take myself that seriously and can handle any insensitiviy on your part without whining.

“And that’s all I have to say.”

Promise?
