My condolences and prayers on your loss. And blessings to those few left who fought for us then.
My great-uncle spent WWII flying rescue missions over the Pacific from Hawaii. He didn’t talk about what he saw until the year before he died.
On Dec. 6, 1941 his wife arrived on a liner from San Francisco to join him at Pearl Harbor. The next morning she woke up and said, “RM, they’re bombing the base.” “It’s just a training run,” he said - then looked out the window - and she didn’t see him again for three days.
They are laid to rest in Black Mountain, NC.

What a fantastic story. Thank you for sharing. I love these. My kids eat it up. My 12 year old son viewed The War by Ken Burns about WWII on DVDs this past fall and he loved it.
Sadly, so many teens today would rather not be encouraged to do great things. History is a great tool to show them that they are truly capable of, accomplishing amazing things NOW just like so many young people in the past who bravely risked it all. Acts of selflessness.Accomplishing much as opposed to barely completing the low expectations from the world today.
she didnÂt see him again for three days.
How did it go for them? Blessings to your family...♥
