It looks like we will have to rely upon the more ignorant majority of the population to provide the political backing for the remedial measures needed to combat the problem, Sounds like he's got the liberal playbook well read.

Isn’t that special! A PolySci prof is “depressed” over this.
I consider myself pretty well informed on the technical aspects of this issue. I also have a technical background that gives me some insight into some of the technical side of this debate. I’d say a PolySci prof is pretty much unable by training to make any sort of reasoned judgment on the technical aspects of this debate.
He should keep his depression to himself and STFU about “the ignorant majority”.

Considering the extensive efforts of former vice-president Al Gore, most of the media, and the academic community to alert people to this growing crisis, Id call these responses unexpected, Kellstedt said. Its like the more a person knows about the phenomenon, the less impressed they are about efforts to stir them to support government action to stem the crisis. Maybe that's because they recognize it for the sham it is you idiot.
As the article says, you are going to have to depend on your "useful idiots" to get this thing to stick. But we will keep whillting away at that with good old fashioned education via talk radio, the internet, email chains, etc. where your icons, AlGore and the MSM can't intrude.
...and for good measure, here's another sham exposed to the light:

The professor called the results depressing. Who wants to bet this is the norm for most liberal ideas - - "liberal intellectuals backed by total idiots" ?

Funny, I thought that's what they always wanted anyway, given how completely they have destroyed public education.

ONE DEGREE. That’s how much the earth has warmed in the last 100 years. Since 1998, the earth has been cooling, right or wrong?
I liken the scientists to experts on the stock market. When the consensus leans heavily towards one side, that inevitably spells the top or bottom and a reversal is near. In 1974, the consensus was global cooling, right when it started to warm up.
