Once again, the ‘man-caused’ global warming advocates are over blowing an insignificant event. A shelf of ice from the Antarctic has broken off, (an event that is totally natural by the way) and the Al Gore wannabees are crying bloody murder. The newspapers printed large page long articles about the event and completely ignored the evidence which shows that most of the Antarctic has been cooling and making record ice since the 1970’s. I’m surprised the news paper columnists were even able to type their articles- their hands must have been shaking quite badly when they received the earth shattering news that a shelf had collapsed into the ocean.
The news reports made it sound like a major chunk of ice had broken off, and that the whole Antarctic ice region was in danger of disappearing. Yet, had they been honest in their reporting, they would have told you and I that the chunk amounted to only 0.01% of the total ice coverage.

“The media is once again hyping an allegedly dire consequence of man-made global warming. This time the media is promoting the ice loss of one tiny fraction of the giant ice-covered continent and completely ignoring the current record ice growth on Antarctica. Contrary to media hype, the vast majority of Antarctica has cooled over the past 50 years and ice coverage has grown to record levels since Satellite monitoring began in the 1970s, according to peer-reviewed studies and scientists who study the area.

If the Gorism crowd can bring back El Nino for say a decade straight here on the Oregon Coast then I am signing up.
It is April (in 2 days) and it has been snowing/hailing of and on for the last 2 days. And freezing.
Sucks.
