A Republican Team More Liberal Than Clinton?

The McCain people have been floating the name of Governor Crist of Florida as a potential vice presidential candidate. I realize, of course, that publishing the names of several people in this way is a time-honored practice that gives them publicity and gains the support of people who have no chance of ending up as the vice presidential candidate.

As a conservative Republican, I have had to swallow hard to embrace Senator McCain for president, but at least I have always felt that his views, including some that were badly mistaken, were honestly held.

Picking that a$$hat Crist as his running buttbuddy would be really, really, really, really stupid.

If McCain goes and does that, I’ll have to reconsider my vote for him as the lesser of the evils.

Sorry to say that I don’t have a horse in the race this year. It is the first time in my life that I honestly don’t want ANY of the candidates to win. Spare me the speeches that not voting for McCain is like voting for a dem....blah.....blah.....blah....I’ve heard it all.

McCain has no will to fight to win this race. He wants to lose it. He will not pick a conservative to be his VP - he hates us too much to do that. He will let Lieberman and Teddy Kennedy tell him who to pick. Worst candidate we could have ever put up there - in a year when it was so important to win. The Republican Party has lost my support, probably for good.

Don’t see how we can reasonably expect anything other than another lefty as his VP pick. When was the last time McCain did something for conservatives?

Ya, I just read a news story on Drudge that 1 in 5 dems will vote for Jaun McCain if their candidate does not get the nomination.

I thought to myself, "not a big jump".

No f*cking way.

“Those of us who are conservative also noticed that Governor Crist’s first acts as governor were to commit Florida resources to combat man-made global warming, and to give convicted felons the right to vote.”

WONDERFUL/s

And then there is the matter of Mrs. Crist.....

Crist on the ballot would make it much easier for this Floridian to leave the top of the ballot blank in November. McCain already promises to be a disaster and doesn’t need Crist’s help for that.

Picking Crist would be showing that McCain would rather lose than win with conservative votes. It would indicate that McCain is not much improvement over the Clintons. I suspect that after this election the Right will experience some of the same harrassment that we could expect from the Clintons, IRS audits and such.
