Maybe when they outsource the CEO’s job?

I hear you can get really good CEOs in India for less than $500K a year....

Outsourcing the heavy maintenance, including outsourcing to overseas vendors.

Jet Blue does it, as does UAL.

UAL does NOT outsource heavy checks. They have cleaning vendors and other contractors but heavy MX is done in SFO by UALMX..

They may have brought some work back, but you are mistaken in large part. The 777 and 747 heavy checks are done overseas, most of the narrow body domestic work is contracted out to stateside vendors.

Just google

ual overseas outsourcing of aircraft maintenance

I flew on a repo into SFO last year that was going in to a heavy check. I could have sworn HEAVY MX was UAL only. My boss told me yesterday that that wasnt true. I stand corrected. The only MX we contract out are mods and paint usually. I pround to announce that all of our paint shop work is done in Mena, Arkansas!

Who knows, they are probably just as capable of of the work as an airline employee here in CONUS. But that kind of work should stay here. Funny, I guess all the union dues in the world couldnt save MX..
