Post NYSlimes - I Now Support McCain
TownHall.com ^ | February 21, 2008 | RB Miller

Posted on 02/21/2008 5:56:40 AM PST by rbmillerjr

The NY Slimes article based on an unproven claim of something that didn't happen eight years ago is disgusting. The innuendo-laced hit piece shows to what extent the Liberal Media will go to ensure a socialist like Obama get elected President. Forget the fact that they held this story since December. Forget that Rush Limbaugh and anybody that follows politics knew they would do something like this. But remember just how far and vile the liberals in media will go to regain power and maintain power.

This is an all out declaration of war on Republicans and conservatives because the alternative is electing a President Obama who will lower our defenses against terrorists worldwide, humiliatingly withdrawl our troops from Iraq at a record surrendering pace, and reinstitute partial term abortion murders immediately. These things will happen in the first five days of an Obama Presidency.

I have to admit I was a Fred Thompson supporter and then weny down to my line-in-the sand Romney candidate, primarily due to his economic message and the current state of our slowing economy. I wasn't going to vote for McCain. He is still not my favorite. I was going to send a message to the Republicans that I wanted a real conservative. But guess what, the the NYSlimes has managed to do what Hillary and Obama could not. The Slimes has clarified who the real enemy is here.

I cannot in good conscience stand by and let the autocratic liberal socialists with their PR annex at the NYSlimes get in the White House. So, I will now, not only vote for McCain, I will support him with money and bumper stickers and yard signs. Thank you NYSlimes for the clarifying audacity of your slimey politics.

He is on now/Fox News and public press interview. They have got to keep the mike farther away from him; it is scary to hear his quick, short weazy breaths between sentences! Used to be I only was bothered by the ‘whistle’; now this. NOT good. It is the kind of ‘kick the bucket’ breath sound.

Oh please, this author should concentrate on destroying the liberal media who have run our elections and our country for 40 years, instead of making this about one man.

Who btw, kissed the NYT arse in exchange for good PR against Republicans for 8 years now.

And he will continue to kiss their arse, (if elected)because he knows the NYT has the power to make or break you.

This is the fault of all the Right.

Our rightwing media, officeholders, and voters, who have allowed the MSM to metastasize and grow for so long, giving them ZERO competition.

But, but, but... don't you see? This will make the Republican Party stronger with Conservatives and we'll be ready for next election with the perfect Conservative Party. Obama will save the Conservatives! /sarc

I just thought of something. I wonder if this strike against McCain is a way to innoculate Obama against the limo deal story. Now, if and when something comes out Obama, it will look like tit for tat.

“I wonder if this strike against McCain is a way to innoculate Obama against the limo deal story”

It very well could be in their considerations. BTW, where the blazes is the homo-limo story lol. There is at least a person who swears he is telling the truth in that one.

Oh that may be some of it. However, this is the first dirty shot the liberal MSM will take to defeat McCain since he is the likely nominee. I hope McCain and his campaign are ready for the MSM to turn on them.

I’m not getting behind a man who sells out Conservatives every time just because the Times has made accusations using anonymous sources again.

I emailed the McCain campaign at 7:00pm New Mexico time with a suggestion that they did not follow up on.

I would have had someone close to me with that issue of the NYT and a roll of toilet paper on their person. During the inevitable very public and live news conference, I would have displayed the NYT and then the roll of toilet paper asking the crowd to please tell me the recognizable difference. I also would have indicated that they would get better benefiter and results from the roll of toilet paper.

Predictably they did not use it.

My conclusion... Gutlessness.

“HEAR ME NOW. BELIEVE ME LATER.”

This is one of the problems that conservatives have with moderates and Rinos.

They think that “being nice” is a profitable strategy when the opponent really needs a knuckle sandwich from a chunk of concrete.

Democrats, the left wing, American socialists, (they are all one in the same) are as much an enemy as Nikita Kurstchev (sp)et. al. ever were to the US.

If they don’t get it now and respond accordingly, the enemy will out flank us politically every time and compromise this country’s state of liberty, freedom and economic might incrementally just as they have gargle accomplished to date.

It is the kind of ‘kick the bucket’ breath sound.

It's called, the "death rattle".

Kind of what the GOP is doing, too.

I've seen this movie before. Flashback October 2003 to Arnold Schwarzenegger (I wonder if they have the same campaign strategist)
• L.A. Times runs hitpiece with a dozen women alleging inappropriate touching and sexual harrassment (stemming back between 2 to 10 years).

• Campaign responsds with feigned outrage -- "Hit piece!" "Unnamed sources!" "ala National Enquirer!"

• Talking head hit the street - "Yellow journalism!" "He is a family man!" "He has a pretty wife."

• The accused responds: "Trash politics." "I am a champion of women." "I behaved badly... I apologize if I offended anyone." Any further discussion on the point was then dismissed by talking heads and apologists, without addressing the specific allegations.

• The accused's wife responds: "I trust my husband...."

• Shills and Apologists - "This will backfire." "The newspaper is just trying to bring him down." "How dare the LAT--now I'm going to vote for Arnold." "Conservatives will rally around him, now." "This will help Arnold."

The story, based on anymous sources who supposedly were concerned with an appearance of impropriety from meetings almost 10 years ago, is designed to deflect attention from the ethics issues of both democratic candidates, except real people have stepped up and accused the Dems.

The Times thinks they will get readers to think, “they are all dirty,” so as to take the ethical issues off the table for Obama and Hillary, and help their candidate get in.

Since the article was “thorough” enough to go all the way back to the Keating Five story, I expect that they will also run thru Hillary’s various transgressions, though they would need a separate supplement for complete coverage of her numerous, PROVEN, scandals.

http://bluestarchronicles.com/2008/02/21/new-york-times-executive-editor-bill-keller-had-affair/

“I’m sure everyone has heard about the Old Grey Lady’s hit piece on John McCain. If you haven’t heard about it you haven’t been on the internet or turned on your television today. It certainly got Michelle Obama’s lack of pride in her country off the current news cycle.

It turns out that the Executive Director of the New York Times, Bill Keller, has a few skeletons in his own closet he might not want out in his own newspaper.

The Deceiver is reporting on a September 2006 New York magazine story having to do with Keller and the circumstances that resulted in the end of Keller’s first marriage to National Public Radio reporter Ann Cooper and his second marriage to Emma Gilbey.

Here’s what New York wrote in 2006...

...Keller wrote one last piece on South Africa, an article for the Times Magazine about Nelson Mandela’s wife, Winnie, in which he cited a book called The Lady: The Life and Times of Winnie Mandela. The following week, the magazine published a letter by the book’s author [Emma Gilbey]

After reading the letter, Keller called Gilbey, a British journalist living in New York, and asked her to coffee at the Times cafeteria. Gilbey, at the time, had a reputation as something of a power-dater; her exes included Senator John Kerry and Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour. An affair ensued, which shocked Keller’s friends. I felt bad for everyone involved, says Stephen Engelberg, a former Times reporter. This was not characteristic behavior at all. I wouldn’t pretend to be Bill’s psychologist, but he didn’t get a red sports car, so...

...Two years after they met, Gilbey was pregnant, Keller was divorced from Cooper, and he had a new job as [Times] managing editor.

I could have just written that Keller had been having an affair with a goat and, by his own journalistic standards, it’d be up to him to prove that he didn’t. But I won’t do that. I probably went overboard by writing about a story that actually has sources. That doesn’t seem to be necessary by the standards of the New York Times.

I seriously don’t care anything about Keller’s private life. I certainly don’t care or want to know about who he sleeps with. I’m just saying, people who live in glass houses...”
