It's far from over!
The candidate needs 1,191 delegates to win, and McCain has 97 and Romney has 74, and who knows how many candidates Huckabee will have after all is said and done.
Here's my letter to the editor, which I sent to a couple of newspapers in my area:
"Dear Editor:
While John McCain is a war hero, and I feel a better candidate than any of the Democrat candidates, I cannot vote for him on Super Tuesday.
Here are a few reasons why:
Senator McCain supports human embyronic stem cell research, and the ICC (where the International Criminal Court would be judging Americans). He also was part of the gang of 14, which has stopped President Bush's judicial nominess for circuit courts, etc. from going to the floor for an up or down vote.
I heard a couple of McCain's colleagues say on the radio that he went against the leadership, when the Republicans had the majority, including the culture issues.
John McCain is also the senator that liberal Democrats come to when they want a senator from the Republican side of the aisle. For instance: McCain/Feingold (limits free speech); McCain/Kennedy (amnesty); McCain/Lieberman (50 cents per gallon gas tax increase).
Senator McCain's pro-illegal immigration stance would hurt our national security, as border security is national security. Known terrorists have been caught crossing our borders."
Maybe you'll join me and write a letter to the editor of your own.
The chicom leaders are every bit as evil as the terrorists. Looks like 4 more years of sucking up to communists as they fleece us.
John McCain is not normal and therefore he would do more harm than any other candidate.
“You don’t limit evil by allowing it to fester and grow incrementally year after year.”
So what is your PRACTICAL suggestion?
Make it easy for McCain to give tax dollars to experiment with human embryos, grant amnesty, let the U.N. control us and the ICC to judge Americans, raise our taxes, pick “moderate” judges, etc.
We don’t have time for a 3rd party. In the next few years there will be at least two openings for SCOTUS justices and terrorists are crossing our borders NOW.
“I am not really for any of the GOP that are now running, but I see McCain as being the worst of those currently on the GOP ticket.”
I figure even if we don’t want to support the other candidates, we can still let the country know about McCain so they will be watching him IF he becomes president (which I doubt).
If he runs, I believe it will be either Hillary or Obama, because many conservatives will stay home or vote 3rd party. btw, Laura Ingraham did a poll which supports this.
If we have McCain, Hillary or Obama, as president, I believe it will be the end of this country as we know it (not to say that things MIGHT turn around in the future).
As for me, I’ll be voting for Romney or Huckabee just to stop McCain, but each person, of course, must decide what to do about that for themselves.
“As for me, Ill be voting for Romney or Huckabee just to stop McCain, but each person, of course, must decide what to do about that for themselves.”
I have not decided yet who I will vote for in our caucuses in Feb., but I will not be McCain.
“but I will not be McCain.”
Good enough.
Among everything else, McCain, Hillary or Obama would force an (un)fairness doctrine on Americans.
The late Congressman Hyde was not impressed with Senator McCain:
“Hyde, who has criticized McCain for advocating weakening of the Republican Party’s pro-life platform plank.
Pro-abortion leaders also see a big difference. Following McCain’s win in the New Hampshire primary, the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition said that based on exit polls, “pro-choice Republicans overwhelmingly preferred McCain above all the other candidates.”’

McCain is bad news on countless issues.
Would a man who gutted our 1st amendment rights (McCain/Feingold) actually pick constitutional judges?
Is John McCain a war hero ?Served US Army 1958 - 1964 E5 SP-5
He might die of old age before the convention, it could happen.
“Continue to hold the Conservative line.”
You can’t do that by wasting your vote. They tried that in 2006, and now the Dems are in control of the judiciary committee, and President Bush’s judicial nominees aren’t making it to the floor for an up or down vote. Do you realize how important it is to take back our courts?
“Another party would restore the two party system.”
I would LOVE for that to happen, but in the meantime we could lose our country. We need to be PRACTICAL, and limit the damage as much as possible WHILE we are waiting for a STRONG conservative party to emerge.
I don’t understand why you say “Everyone is waiting for the other person to do something instead of taking the bull by the horns remaining true to Conservative principles.”
We already have the Constitution Party, and other minor parties, and they only get 1% or less when they run for president. They are just spoilers. If they don’t first get a governor, U.S. senator or congressperson, their chances to win are almost zero.
I wish the minor parties that I like did do better, but they don’t. So until they do, we need to be practical and limit evil, and try to take back our courts.
Again, do you realize how important taking back our courts is?
