In a state riven by factions and ancient hatreds, Gary Glenn stands out.
He runs Michigan's American Family Association, but recently he's focused his efforts on taking down Mitt Romney.
Given the events of the past few weeks, that now translates into supporting Huck.
Romney's camp shares this email, passed along by a supporter, in which Glenn explains at considerable length how to maximize the church's for Huck and to do so without crossing legal boundaries.
It makes one key element of the Huck strategy fairly clear.
And note which churches to hit and which to avoid.

Romney’s record is that of a radical, social liberal, as pointed out in the article I posted above. He is no more a Reagan Republican than any other politician who has publically claimed for himself that he is NOT a Reagan conservative....a statement that Romney HAS made.
This FredHead thinks we cannot accept a Romney win anyplace. The best win in Michigan is by Huckabee.

We’ve heard is all before. We know he didn’t run prolife in 1994, we know the quotes from 14 years ago. We know that, rather than think that the man improved on the issue or is a convert, some want to banish him for life from the social conservative movement, for the crime of doing what GHWBush did, which is adopt a prolife stance after having a prochoice stance earlier in his career.

Romney as Governor was about as prolife as he could be in that state. And as President, he will be nominating Scalia, Roberts and Alito type Judges who will be judicial conservatives that will rule the right way on Roe v Wade. Romney will welcome the day that happens. As will I.
Posting stuff with falsehoods like “He endorses Ted Kennedy’s federal “gay rights” legislation.” when he does not ... only underscores that this is dirty, phony politics, not designed to educate voters, but to scare them out of supporting a pretty good candidate, and drive them into the arms of candidates who are much worse for the party and the country.

That article is incredibly biased and unbalanced, and includes exaggerations and falsehoods. It’s not a true reflection of Romney’s actions, record and who he is and where he stands today.

Please understand that Romney is now the 3rd most likely candidate at this point, behind McCain and Huckabee. At least you have the common sense not to fall for the Huckabee shuffle, but the net effect of trashing Romney is to boost *McCain* who honestly is less reliable on life issues certainly than Romney. see my tagline.

Nope. I’m a Thompson/Hunter supporter. The issue is where lies the gravest danger. It lies with Giuliani and Romney with their radical, social liberal history.
Giuliani because the New York media is just chomping to support him. Romney because his personal fortune needs just a small boost to enable him to buy the nomination.
Here’s the truth, folks. I don’t trust either of those two...or McCain. I simply do NOT trust them. (Huckabee I trust to govern as a Reagan DEMOCRAT....good on patriotism/defense & social issues and lousy on fiscal & welfare policies.)

McCain flipflopped on Roe v Wade:

- he voted for Ruth Bader Ginsberg
- he was in the gang of 14 that undercut several conservative judges
And check out Rick Santorum on his actions in the Senate:

Yes, when you drill down and look at the hits Romney took for being against gay marriage and doing a few prolife things, versus John McCain who is a flipflopper and no-show on these issues and voted against FMA (which Romney supports) .... yes, Romney is better.

Romney’s scooping up some support in Michigan heading into the home stretch before Tuesday’s primary. One intriguing get is the support of Dennis Smith, who heads up the Information Network for Christian Homes, which has supported home-schoolers in the Wolverine State since 1984.
Smith yesterday circulated a letter in the state supporting Romney and denouncing many of the Republican candidates, including McCain, and explained in detail the rationale for his thinking. Of McCain, Smith writes: “McCain has been wrong on issues like campaign finance reform and immigration, has an un-presidential nasty temper, and I just don’t like him.”
By phone this morning, Smith said that he sent the letter to about 3,600 homes of current and former home-schoolers. “The majority are not politically active,” he explained, “but they might vote.”
While Romney’s chief rival here is McCain, Smith’s support of the Michigan native is a bigger blow to Huckabee, who is making a play for the state and is certain to try and turn his success with Christians and home-schooling families in Iowa into similar gains here.

McCain's intent was to preserve the filibuster option for future wars in the Senate. His deal, however, did lead to the nominations of Alito and Roberts and a host of other conservative judges.
Yes, I have read his statement on Roe. I have also read Romney's full support of a woman's right to choose on a number of occasions and opportunities.
In short, they both were graded down. They both lost points. Romney got a point for his conversion words, and McCain got a few points for his far more numerous pro-life comments and votes.
But that's not the issue. The issue is stopping Romney and his massive personal fortune with which he is trying to buy the Presidency.

I prefer they both be defeated. We can put a stake in Romney’s heart if he loses Michigan. I don’t think anyone will be impressed with his upcoming win in Utah. :>)
McCain, on the other hand, will lose his steam in SC.

Of the three - Thompson is proven conservative; Romney has a good record on fiscal/economic and overall,
McCain you can trust to stab the conservative movement in the back on a regular basis.
Listen/read up on Rush’s comments. The MSM wants McCain and wants Huckabee. No mention of their non-conservative records. It’s all personality. Rudy? He’s starting to fold.
Fact is Romney and Thompson are both on the ropes, and helping McCain win in MI will take *both* of them out of contention.
Huckabee demonstrated (again) at last nights debate that he is in now way equipped to be POTUS.
