I am not working closely with the Duncan Hunter campaign here in Florida.. if you are a registered FLORIDA Republican committed to Duncan Hunter in the Primary on 29 January Please FReepmail me ASAP..
TOWARD VICTORY
I guess I want to restate what I wrote on another post.
In my humble opinion it’s important to find out who hands out the invitations and simply inquire who is on the invite list. If we find out Hunter is not invited then we can raise hell. There is no need to call attention to a problem that isn’t a problem. It’s better to leave the sleeping dogs sleep.
What’s your view?
I seem to recall some of his Iowa campaign staff endorsing Fred
******According to the FAU debate website the debate sponsors are:
The GEO Group, Inc.***********

Okay, that’s just one. But it’s a good example of exactly what we’re up against and it’s pathetically simple and too typical.
Follow the $$$.

Last year I started an article about these big private prison providers that became such a web of YUK that I put it aside. They’re deep in big political contributions. Gave Bush/Cheney a bunch of $$$ and the other amnesty guys. They’re lifeblood is illegal immigration. Big percentage (27% Federal) inmates. Detention centers. You name it. They’re poorly managed, dangerous places using the current economic model = only the bottom line matters.
This outfit was formerly Wackenhut. Now that one is ringing a bell from years ago....maybe the Clinton blood scandal, anyone recall?
Anyway, the big players always seem to be the same ol’ same ol’ cheap labor/import corrupt outfits. Part of me says, “Ya sound like a leftie blaming the corporations!” The logic dictates understanding that corruption exists.
And it shouldn’t be a surprise this kind of sponsor wants a Duncan Hunter out of the debates. Sure, a few months ago, give him a quarter of the time given the anointed few and then get rid of him before a vote is cast.
“If we find out Hunter is not invited then we can raise hell. “
We do need to know that first.
For now, I simply e-mailed the university and asked who is responsible for inviting the candidates.
But don’t know if I’ll get a response.
I have mixed feelings, but we can certainly ask them WHO is invited, and if Hunter is not, then we can politely tell them why we think he should be. What do you think?
“We do need to know that first.”
I wonder how we can find out.
Please see my last post about what I did, but as I said, I don’t know if I’ll get a response, or if this is the best group to ask.
The national political conversation will echo through FAU in January 2008. The University will host the Republican presidential candidates on Thursday, Jan. 24 and the Democratic presidential candidates on Sunday, Jan. 27 in televised debates sponsored by Leadership Florida, the Florida Press Association and Florida Public Broadcasting Service, Inc.
The debates will be held in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium in the Student Union on the Boca Raton Campus and will be aired live on MSNBC and Florida’s public television and radio stations. Additionally, most NBC network affiliates in Florida are expected to carry the broadcast live.
The debates are just days before Florida’s primary and “Super Tuesday,” when voters in more than 20 states go to the polls to vote in primaries.
--snip--
As the host, FAU is proud to recognize the partnership behind the debates for its deep reach, significance, balance and non-partisanship. For 25 years, Leadership Florida has served to develop a community of leaders with diverse perspectives to address our state’s challenges and work for the common goal of a better Florida. The Florida Press Association is a nonprofit corporation designed to protect the freedoms and advance the professional standards of the press in Florida, with a membership that includes most of Florida’s daily and weekly newspapers. Florida Public Broadcasting is a non-profit network of 26 public television and radio stations dedicated to serving our local communities and who reach 99 percent of Florida’s population.
The China lobby despises Hunter as well.
:-)
Absolutely.
“Theyre lifeblood is illegal immigration”
That doesn’t sound encouraging, but hopefully they’re not the only ones to decide who gets invited.
We have to stop meeting like this. Shhhh....
But nothing at the website says who got invited to the debate.
I wonder if NBC has some say in the decision making??
Well, I don’t know about you, but it took us 10 years to start talking naughty, that’s a record for me. I’m slippin’ up I tell ya....
LMBO!
Good night!
Perhaps the Hunter campaign can tell us. They have to know if invitations have been extended.
Thanks for the ping and your good, solid activism. B4DH again.
