Conservatives will Come Home to Thompson

Fred Thompson got in the race too late. Fred does not have a serious chance of winning. He’s nowhere in the polls. That’s the narrative from the MSM. However, a closer look at the latest Rasmussen polling shows otherwise.

Fred Thompson has the highest favorability ratings among Republicans in Iowa.

Fred Thompson is viewed favorably by 77% of likely Iowa Republican Caucus goers according to Rasmussen’s latest Iowa Polling (Dec 19). That is the highest favorable rating of any Republican candidate. Romney’s favorability rating is at 73%, Huckabee 67%, McCain 63% and Giuliani 58%. The trend to watch: Huckabee’s favorability rating dropped from 81% to 67% in just one week. This poll was taken as Fred’s “Hands Down” bus tour began in Iowa. Fred will continue to campaign in Iowa exclusively until the caucus, maximizing his opportunity to turn those high favorable ratings into votes.

Fred Thompson is also the second choice of most Republican voters in Iowa.

“Among those who say there’s a good chance they could change their mind, Thompson and Huckabee top the second choice list” according to Rasmussen. How many voters are likely to change their mind before the caucus? Enough voters to change the outcome. The poll shows that nearly 40% of voters could choose another candidate before January 3. Only a bare majority of Romney voters (58%) and McCain voters (55%) say they are “certain they will not change their mind”. That is a lot of support that Fred is well positioned to pick up. What happens after Iowa? What are Fred’s chances nationally?

More Republican voters view Fred Thompson as conservative

In a Rasmussen Poll of 800 likely voters December 10 – December 18, 50% of Republicans view Fred Thompson as conservative. Trailing Thompson is Huckabee, who is viewed as conservative by 43% of Republican voters, compared to 41% of voters who view him as moderate or liberal (a 15% increase from the last poll). Even fewer voters view Romney as conservative (38%). More voters actually view Romney as moderate or liberal (43%). The “surging” McCain is still viewed as moderate to liberal by 59% of Republican voters. Maybe supporting amnesty and voting against the Bush Tax cuts were bad ideas.

Fred Thompson has the highest favorability ratings among Republicans of any candidate nationally

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows that Thompson is viewed favorably by 67% of Republican voters. McCain and Giuliani are viewed favorably by 65%, Huckabee by 64%, and Romney by only 59%.

There is a lot of fertile ground in Iowa for Fred to take advantage of. A strong third place showing in Iowa will be the first step in capitalizing nationally. None of the Republican candidates poll at over 20% nationally in the Rasmussen poll because conservatives have not decided on their clear, consistent conservative choice, but they’re leaning towards coming home to Thompson.

The game is on. Fred will surprise in IA, regroup through NH and make his stand in SC. I love it when a plan comes together.

If Fred doesn't get the nomination, the GOP doesn't get my vote.

(Unless DH gets it, which is about a 1 in 1,000,000 longshot)

Your vote is too valuable to waste, so we’d better get busy and help Fred win this thing.

This is an interesting stat.

FRED THOMPSON - NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERT (I’ll protect the American people and American values, whatever it takes to stop the Islamic-Fascists including water-boarding) - 2ND AMENDMENT ADVOCATE (arming the People to disarm criminals) – INCREASE THE MILITARY’S STRENGTH AND SIZE (giving those brave men and women a Commander in Chief to be proud of) - SECURE AND SEAL THE BORDERS (don’t give sanctuary anywhere to illegal’s, don’t employ illegal’s, don’t rent to illegal’s, don’t extend credit to illegal’s, don’t give illegal’s rights they don’t deserve, report all crimes committed by illegal’s and deport those illegal’s who have already committed crimes against America) - LAW AND ORDER (enforcement first and foremost with laws currently on the books) – DENY FEDERAL DOLLARS TO SANCTUARY CITIES (enough is enough) – CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES FOR SUPREMES (those who will interpret the law, not create rights that do not exist) – PRO-LIFE ADVOCATE (nominate superior Constitutional Justices to overturn Roe vs Wade) - SOCIAL SECURITY REFORMER (reform a broken program that can’t sustain itself and will bankrupt future generations, with the added benefit of private savings accounts) - DEFEAT ANY DEMOCRAT AND RINO (any fool DemocRATS put up) – TAX SIMPLIFICATION (variety of choice for the tax payer) - WON’T PUT UP WITH CRAP FROM THE MSM (including stupid questions by moderators and pundits) - “WE THE PEOPLE” CANDIDATE (We the People asked him to run and he stepped up) - PING!
