Hunter added:
"Pulling back from the double-fence mandate is a prescription for failure that will only allow more smugglers, criminals and illegal aliens to enter the United States through our land border with Mexico," the California congressman added.
"If enacted," Hunter concluded, "this legislation would represent a significant step backwards in the effort to secure our borders."

I would be for eliminating the fence, if as a substitute we mortared their assembly areas on the Mexican side of the border.

The Hutchison amendment allows the secretary of homeland security to use discretion in deciding whether a fence was the most appropriate means to achieve and maintain operational control along the border with Mexico. Chances the DHS Sec. would decide in favor of building a fence or any effective border barrier: Zero.

BUMP for America (before it is too late).

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.
But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to be feared."

An example of why so many called “BS” at the so-called Comprehensive Immigration Bill, knowing that after it was signed the enforcement components would be stripped back out leaving only amnesty. I wonder if this bill was written prior to the failure of the amnesty bill. /CynicismWithReason
