Plenty of Jewish people are atheist or non-devout. No one questions whether they're Jewish. I always think of them as ethnically Jewish. If a Gentile converts to Judaism, then they are Jewish only for religious reasons.

What's silly is not that the guy could ethnically be a Jew, but that you guys have a gay, pagan, Democrat con man in charge of your organization and the best you can come up with is "He could still be a Jew!"
