I’m not all at dissuaded by arguments regarding disparate treatment of men who choose to be the caretakers.

But I think quoting a scumbag like Tom Leykis isn’t helping. How any woman would want to marry this guy in the first place is a mystery to me but the guy hates the GOP and anything related to family values. He is basically Bill Maher without the hollywood friends.

Alimony and child support should be based upon financial need and potential, just like it was in the past. Custody should be based upon who is the best for the child. Does that usually end up being the mother? Sure. But I’ll fight any judge who refuses to acknowledge that it is not the LAW but rather just the probability. Dads do have rights and they are no less valuable than a mothers.

Besides, would anybody feel sorry for Rosie O’Donnell if her ‘girlfriend’ decided to split and wanted millions to keep her sustained for the rest of her life?

In the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” a woman supports her husband working as a professor while he is home supposedly working on ‘the great American novel’. She finds out he is sleeping with her friend while she is off at work, and when they go to get divorced, she finds out that she is expected to support him in the manner he is accustomed to.

Hurts when the shoe is on the other foot. But I dont’ think turnabout is fair play. The lesson is.....if your spouse is a deadbeat, don’t support them for several years unless you plan on doing it indefinitely even after they are no longer your companion.

If you want to see outrageous persecution of a minority group, check out how our FemiNazi dominated family courts treat fathers.

these women must have terrible attorneys....

I know a woman who divorced her husband (they had a 4 yr old daughter) and got child support. The kicker is that the 4 yr old daughter LIVED with the father.

YUP! The child LIVED with Dad- but DAD paid mom child support.

on another note....feminism has nothing to do with women being treated fairly— it is all about weakening men and giving women power. I pray one day these foolish women come to see how weakening the men of this world truly only weakens themselves. Men are not the enemy- they are a gift, the gift that allows women to follow their true inner desires to be women.

My husband paid child support for his daughter after his breakup with the childs mother. A few monthes after I married him we were given custody of his daughter and the lawyer told us not to ask for child support from the mom. He said it would make the judge mad.
