(Video)Romney: I Will Be A Pro-Life President

I thought this would be a good follow-up to the McCain Pro-Life post. McCain definitely got the quote of the day. Even before I established all of my political standpoints....back in highschool when I thought I was a hippy and for the most part a liberal...I've always been pro-life. This is a very important issue in my decision for President. Of course, I think Roe Vs. Wade is bad law and a mistake from our Supreme Court. I also believe this should be a matter for the States to decide. This is a big issue for me. What he says now sounds good. However, one thing that consistently bothers me with Romney is his inconsistency in his past positions. How does he really feel?

So, here is what Romney says now and then via video

Romney: For purposes of political expediency, I Will Be A Pro-Life President.

There, fixed it.

I really mean it this time.

Having said that, I believe a person can see the errors of their ways and change. I just prefer to see a few years go by, testing the sincerity of the change before putting a person into high office.

Having said that, I would definitely vote for Romney over Rudy. At least Romney is saying the right things and moving in the right direction on this issue.

I could, in all good conscience, only vote for someone that truly believes that killing unborn babies is wrong. And has a history of believing in the sanctity of the unborn.

Then again, we could debate honesty, consistency, integrity on the issue instead of ‘just saying what people want to hear’ like so many others.

YOUTUBE: ROMNEY ON ABORTION 2002

YOUTUBE: MITT ROMNEY, STILL PRO-ABORTION, MAY 27, 2005

Mitt Romney is pro-abortion. No real pro-lifer is going to call abortion "choice." To this day Romney still calls abortion a matter of "choice." Real pro-lifers, such as Hunter and Huckabee, have called those who support abortion "pro-abortionists." Mitt Romney is a sleazy politician who will say anything and spend millions of his own money (he is not getting grassroots support) to win the WH

I will not vote for the lesser of two evils. Either meet all my criteria or loose my vote. Might be an ignorant opinion in today’s world, but Jesus and his word come first.

(Ron) Paul swapped in a story he tells at pro-life gatherings about when he was a medical student and he walked in on an abortion. "They took a two-pound baby out of the mother," he said, "and it was crying, but they put it in a basket and pretended they didn't hear it. And it died."

“Having said that, I believe a person can see the errors of their ways and change.”

Romney’s problem that isn’t always mentioned by the media, is that this isn’t just a man making a recent change on a single issue.

In Romney’s case, it is so many things, his transformation from anti Reagan to being the second coming of Reagan, interlaced with the awkward and dishonest “adamantly pro-choice” Reagan attacks.

From anti gun, to a sudden lifetime NRA membership interlaced with the awkward and dishonest hunting and gun ownership stories.

The list keeps going, but the point never changes, this isn’t a guy that “grew”, this is a guy that went from holding deeply passionate, sincere beliefs to the opposite beliefs, and being instantly just as passionate and sincere, it too much to accept in such a short period.

I have never seen a candidate on such much damning video tape giving powerful, convincing arguments on both sides of so many positions.

This guy is good, but the problem is we see him being just as good, no matter which side he is defending.

Intelligent & thinking people are known to evolve.
Hard heads, one issue voters, jihadists, etc never change.

I agree,,,itis an issue. I personally am for Duncan Hunter first and Fred Thompson second. HAving said that, I do believe people can cahnge...there just needs to be sufficient time go by to show that the change is real and sincere.

I agree. That’s why I support Duncan Hunter 1st, and then Fred Thompson. All I am saying is that at this point I would vote for Romney over Rudy. I hope I do not have to make that choice.

I won’t vote for either of them, but at least Ruity doesn’t try to hide what he is. In that regard I have a lot more respect for him than I do for Wee Willard.
