Silence in Syria, Panic in Iran
Dr. Jack Wheeler's 'To the Point' ^ | Sept ember 19, 2007 | Jack Wheeler

Posted on 10/05/2007 8:14:06 AM PDT by SMARTY

"...One of India's top ranking generals assigned to liaise with the Iranian military recently returned to New Delhi from several days in Tehran - in a state of complete amazement.

Everyone in the government and military can only talk of one thing," he reports. "No matter who I talked to, all they could do was ask me, over and over again, ‘Do you think the Americans will attack us?' ‘When will the Americans attack us?' ‘Will the Americans attack us in a joint operation with the Israelis?' How massive will the attack be?' on and on, endlessly. The Iranians are in a state of total panic...."

The article appeared in 'To the Point' on Sept. 19. Has anyone here read the thing? I apologize if it has been posted before.

‘Do you think the Americans will attack us?’ ‘Will the Americans attack us in a joint operation with the Israelis?’

Yes.

Next question?

I loved this article. But, I think that the folks looking most at a loss because of this (if true) are the Russians. Looks like they sold the Syrians a bunch of junk put together from a from a gulag yard sale, or something.

I hope they are shking in their boots.

If Hunter or Thompson or even Romney get elected they have a lot to worry about.

On the other hand, if Hillary or JulieAnnie or Juan McCainez get in there, it will be another story.

Yep.

You’d think the world would have learned about the Russian’s military hardware during the Gulf War, or during the 18 days it took to remove Saddam from power.

We go through Russian military hardware like a hot knife through butter.

Notice how far away Dayr az-Zawr is from Israel. An F15/16 attack there is not a tiptoe across the border, but a deep, deep penetration of Syrian airspace. And guess what happened with the Russian super-hyper-sophisticated cutting edge antiaircraft missile batteries when that penetration took place on September 6th.
Nothing.
El blanko. Silence. The systems didn't even light up, gave no indication whatever of any detection of enemy aircraft invading Syrian airspace, zip, zero, nada. The Israelis (with a little techie assistance from us) blinded the Russkie antiaircraft systems so completely the Syrians didn't even know they were blinded.

Let's apply Occam's Razor here. Is it more likely that Israel flew F15s and F16s (70s vintage aircraft) deep into Syria *and back* completely undetected, or that we sent some F117s or B2s to do the job, and just gave the IAF credit for it?

Alternately, they may've overflown Jordan, then gone into Iraq where we conveniently didn't notice them, and then flown straight up the Euprates.

Send in the Danish cartoons first to get the idiots out in the streets to increase effectiveness of the initial strike.

Just guessing that we were in on this attack, using stealth technology, and/or that we let the Israeli planes come in through Iraq, not across Syria.

We so need to use Iraq as the jumping off point to neutralize Iran and Syria.

Does that surprise you? The only thing of any worth the
Russian military industrial complex has manufactured is the
AK-47.

BTW, didn’t Iran also buy the Chinese-made Tiger’s Longduckdong
anti-a/c system or was that just Iraq? Another marvel of modern
foreign military engineering!

Say a prayer for LockheedMartin tonight!

Actually, I doubt the accuracy of this article.

I really doubt that the mullahs are running around “in a state of panic.”

This sounds like CBS/NYT journalism to me. - They are undoubtablty concerned, as would any country’s leaders be that make dangerous gambles, and take that concern into their calculations.
