OTOH, Fred is considered a credible conservative candidate for POTUS by many folks.

Partly right. OTOH, Fred is considered a credible conservative candidate for POTUS by many folks, who have only seen him act and who are either ignorant or approve of his record.

It sure annoys some of you that many of us here realize Duncan Hunter is the more conservative candidate with a record to prove it.

Uh, I’m sorry this is a Hunter only thread? Are there credentials to check at the door?

>The only ones who doubt that Rep. Hunter can win are the brainwashed liberals with an inordinate fondness for red pickup trucks.<

>>You just insulted the majority of Free Republic.<<

If the shoe fits..... It was my impression that Free Republic is supposed to be a mature, conservative with relatively Christian standards, forum.

Save your charts for the election. You may need them. :)

But Duncan Hunter is unelectable. He has all the charisma of Potato Buds.

Well, Petronski, I see you were your charming self to be first with the senseless insults and put downs that we all agreed not to start. Don't whine if someone does it to your guy next time. But then you all whine even if it's a documented fact you don't like.

Frankly, you talk like someone who doesn’t a poll from a pole.

He should have his own blog. I’ll email him and encourage it.

I support both of them. Stick that in your pigeonhole.

Frankly I’ve about had it with the snipers of both camps and their ridiculous attacks. I like this article simply because it gives some facts and votes to analyze, side by side, without quite as much “analysis” as some hit pieces give us.

Amazing. Fred bested Duncan in a recent FR poll. That was my point. You made insulting remarks that were uncalled for and worse, untrue!

You know, we could analyze the record presented in the thread and determine whether Hunter or Thompson is better in this instance.

Or we could just keep sniping at each other with pointless barbs and insults.

:) Patience, brothers. The junta comes on with the “He can’t win - He has no charisma” tripe but never any substance or facts every thread. We are all human. It is hard not to tumble to their level once in a while.

For my part in it, I apologize to you. You are right the article was based on facts, and facts should prevail in the posts.

Thanks, Cal. This Madison fellow does a nice job. I’m sure it’s going to annoy some.

Some might say it shows desperation and fear of Our Fred to resort to the dirty, underhanded tactic of stating the factual record. Why confuse people with objective truth when emotion and blind faith in their TV Hero is so much more comforting?

And Hunter just bested Fred in a recent Texas straw poll. Things change quickly.

I wouldn’t call the Texas straw poll big time. More like meaningless in the big picture.

So, I take it, you still predict Hunter will win the GOP nomination. You’re carrying optimism to new levels never seen before. Right into the outer limits of the twilight zone.

I, personally, think it will come down to Duncan or FRed. Which is WAY cool for me. They’re my top picks. I believe these two can show the Country how real men debate and separate.

Yes, at this point, I do want FRed to win, however I, and my family, have been Duncan supporters for years. I am, after all, a native San Diegan.

So, to Duncan winning in Tx., I say good on you and , congratulations Rep. Hunter, on a well deserved victory!

Yes, if I did not think he could win, I wouldn’t bother. The more folks learn about him the more they like him. You’ll jump aboard his bandwagon soon enough.

Cool it with the insults.

So be it. We can respectfully disagree here and not be at each other’s throats tossing insults around.

We shall see the direction the campaign takes in the next few months.
