For Thompson, overall it is a misrepresentation on where he stands on the issue based on picking only votes that fit their mold, once again, for example.
Misrepresentation on why Thompson voted against the Exon amendment- not stating that he had his own similar amendment to Exon.
Misrepresentation that 1446 was a bill vote and not a procedural vote (thus, falsely representing support.)
Picking and choosing pieces of quotes to paint a picture that isn’t accurate.
This is just for Thompson, he and Paul (for the opposite reason that Thompson are just the ones I can quote voting records from rote memory.. but based on how this is written, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a similar pattern for the other candidates, even the ones we don’t like..)
My statement against NumbersUSA is because it seems to be the root of where a lot of the bad information is coming from in editorials like this.
That still doesn’t answer the question.
Yes, or no, is anything in this editorial not true?
Actually, it is you who are obfuscating. During the ENTIRE debate on immigration reform, S.1664, Thompson never offered an amendment, though he did vote for several dumb ones. Thompson is weak and has been weak on illegal immigration. I’ve read his entire voting record about 3 times now.
S.1664 morphed into HR 2022 after conference. That does not disqualify the debate and amendment votes.
As for the4 Exon amendment, thompson offered nothing even remotely like it. In fact the did not offer any at all.
Here is the record of amendments:
