Like that's the inevitable conclusion.

This era of information demands verifications for nearly everything from buying groceries on a card to purchasing a home. No one can deny that we citizens are held to commonplace invasions of our privacy for the purpose of business verification that we knowingly go along with because we law-abiding know that's the only way (until DNA scanners are extant) to insure we are who we represent.

Unfortunately we have 30-plus million illegal aliens "living in the shadows" (roughly one-tenth of the total population) who rely on false documents for the jobs that can't be done under the table. Not only do they assume false and stolen Social Security numbers, they are commonly assigned whole identity packages that have nothing to do with who they really are. Once they're identified under those false personnas through any of a myriad of government interactions the government considers them officially the false identity they assumed.

The illegals, very aware of this bureaucratic tendency, often use this against us whenever they flee deportation orders or criminal indictment by merely moving a short distance and purchasing a new set of false documents. The truth is verified by law enforcement finding multiple sets of ID documents on apprehended illegal aliens mor often than not.

With a subterranean population committing crimes and moving at will while the rest of us are binded (proudly and responsibly) to our identities in an age when technology routinely frees wrongfully incarcerated citizens through DNA discoveries I believe that the law abiding have nothing to fear from a national ID card. In case anyone didn't know, all citizens have already been required to obtain a visa as soon as possible (never mind that the stampede for those have put the wait up to two years for one).

That points up how laughable a massive guest worker program would be, as the backlog for legal immigration drags out to ten years or more. Somehow our government will miraculously check the backgrounds and verify the identities of 30 million people deeply inculcated with deceptive tactics, within weeks of their applications. That is obviously impossible and anyone who who swallows that is a fool who deserves the government such liars represent.

only shadow the illegals are living under are the shadows of the roosevelt avenue el,
the awning of the bodegas,
inside the check cashing store filling out money orders,
etc.
they’re out there right smack in front of you directly as a result of nonenforcement of federal laws.
They’ll be selling excellent fakes of this national ID or whatever documentation’s necessary to get one.

stop entitlements and enforce the law
and they’ll all self-deport.
why are so many misled that they’re penniless ?
how’d they get the money to get here even if they borrowed it ? a couple of rounds of welfare checks/benefits on top of tax free pay goes a long way home.
