Hooray for Michigan State University!
Well, what do we have here? Looks like a small case of some people being able to dish it out, but not take it. Let's start at the top.
The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman. Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. The group had complained the cartoons were "hate speech."
Enter Professor Wichman. In his e-mail, he said the following:

I wonder if he’ll be out on his butt faster than you can say “Ward Churchill?”
It’s about time. It should be said more often. The next step is to get them ALL out of the US.
Man - the best part of his email was referring to their protests as
“INFANTILE”.
That letter warmed my heart.
That professor ROCKS!

good for him and the University, but it looks like this story is more than a year old. Still, it was new to me.

Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Well! As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didnt like
this too well. Theyre demanding Wichman be reprimanded and mandatory
diversity training for faculty and a seminar on hate and discrimination
for freshman. How nice. But now the Michigan chapter of CAIR has jumped into
the fray. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently
doesnt believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion.
For its part, the university is standing its ground. They say the e-mail
was private, and they dont intend to publicly condemn his remarks. That
will probably change. Wichman says he never intended the e-mail to be made
public and wouldnt have used the same strong language if hed known it
was going to get out.
Courage is a terrible thing to waste!....Power to the Professor!
Excellent !!!!!!!
What a moron.
> “never intended for his e-mail to be made public”
This is a bunch of *college students* — and not just that, but a *protesting* group i.e. activists. He sends them an rabble-rousing letter and expects them to go off and cry in a corner?
Perfect example of an “ivory tower academic.”
He needs our “SUPPORT.”
Three cheers for Professor Wichman!! He should get invited to the White House! Give that man the Presidential Medal for Freedom!
Crusty engineering professor BTT. Heh heh...
This incident is most refreshing ... and surprising too in that comes from p.c. academia.
Americans are sick and tired of seeing our elected officials, academia, the politically correct, and the guilt ridden liberal progressives bend over backwards for a people who want us eliminated!
Outstanding, professor. May your days be filled with joy and prosperity.
