Well, the title is intriguing. I’ll have to read the article later.

From 2006 Earlier this month, Duncan Hunter, in a behind-closed-doors meeting, killed an amendment sponsored by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) that would have required a Department of Defense spending bill report card revealing to the public all pork barrel spending in Congressional bills, along with the names of their sponsors.

None of us know squat about FT. (whether you think you do or not)
When asked about his membership in CFR, he sidestepped the issue. The fact that he’s a member at all should give one pause. (more Bush, Clinton, etc)
Unless he gets in the race real soon and answers questions directed to him, to me, he’ll be just *more of the same*.
IMO,It’s in our best interest to avoid that at all cost. We’ve already seen to Repub party slip into the same insignificance as the *other* party.

“As more and more of his potential supporters learn about Fred Thompson’s choice of open borders advocate and pro-Islamist ex-senator and lobbyist Spencer Abraham as his campaign manager, Thompson’s luster as th egreat GOP savior has begun to dim precipitously.”
This crap is getting tiresome. First of all, as has been pointed out several times, Abraham has been appointed as a campaign Co-Chair, not campaign manager. That is largely a symbolic position that has little influence on policy. How many times does it have to be pointed out that policy advisers are the one’s who help shape a campaign policy message. Secondly, even if he did have a role in policy, it does not mean that his role is related to security/WOT issues. He has a solid background on support for federalism and free market economics. When Fred picks someone like this to be his foreign policy adviser, wake me up. Until then find something with a little more substance.

Another Trash Fred Thread of the Day from Pissant? Why bother.
Since his guy is sharing 4% at the bottom of the polls (I don't know how you can call this group 2nd tier) he has to be getting desperate. Oh, and Ann supports Duncan, Michelle likes Mitt and Debbie hates them all so far, so your theory don't dance to well either.
Remember we had a "DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS." picture around here somewhere?

I'm willing to give Fred the benefit of the doubt here. Keep in mind that Abraham rebuilt the Michigan GOP from scratch into a powerhouse in the late 80s. Even though he sucked as a Senator & bureaucrat, he's a great campaign operative. He'll give Fred the edge he needs in the Midwest states. I don't think Fred hired him for policy, if Fred's elected he's not going to be a part of his administration. Just for the duration of the campaign.
I'm not happy with the pick though (Fred should have picked Pat Toomey or Michael Steele, IMO) and it does suck, but I'll wait and see what develops.
