The Fred Thompson Meltdown Continues
JoshuaPundit ^ | 7/30/07 | Freedom Fighter

As more and more of his potential supporters learn about Fred Thompson's choice of open borders advocate and pro-Islamist ex-senator and lobbyist Spencer Abraham as his campaign manager, Thompson's luster as th egreat GOP savior has begun to dim precipitously.

Latest to weigh in are Dymphna at Gates of Vienna, Elaine at Aaron's Rod ( who removed all the Blogs For Fred links to her site) and Deb at Right Truth.

And Michelle Malkin also did a short bit with Laura Ingraham on her national show.

As I said in my piece, no one who's serious about winning the War Against Jihad would want a tool like Abraham anywhere near him.Either Thompson was ignorant about Abraham's background, which means he lacks the judgment to be president, or he knew about it and appointed Abraham anyway...which means that no one who's serious about fighting this war or controlling the borders should remotely consider supporting him.

I think we're done with stealth candidates who talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

None of us know squat about FT. (whether you think you do or not)

When asked about his membership in CFR, he sidestepped the issue. The fact that he’s a member at all should give one pause. (more Bush, Clinton, etc)

Unless he gets in the race real soon and answers questions directed to him, to me, he’ll be just *more of the same*.

IMO,It’s in our best interest to avoid that at all cost. We’ve already seen to Repub party slip into the same insignificance as the *other* party.

You’ve changed your mind already...since #58?

With minds like yours aboard, no wonder Hunter’s campaign is a directionless vain muddle.

And this post was showing some disillusioned conservatives about old Fred. But to the Fredheads its blasphemy. Well, count Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin and Debbie Schlussel as blasphemous then. LOL

In all your pissanthropic glee, did you forget to respond to this?
Am so happy you brought up PAC funds, or I never would’ve made the connection.

This crap is getting tiresome. First of all, as has been pointed out several times, Abraham has been appointed as a campaign Co-Chair, not campaign manager. That is largely a symbolic position that has little influence on policy. How many times does it have to be pointed out that policy advisers are the one’s who help shape a campaign policy message. Secondly, even if he did have a role in policy, it does not mean that his role is related to security/WOT issues. He has a solid background on support for federalism and free market economics. When Fred picks someone like this to be his foreign policy adviser, wake me up. Until then find something with a little more substance.

We are trying to change that. Get on board and you can claim to be an early Hunter supporter still.

LOL! This is like Yogi Berra upside down! "Folks have been flocking to our side. Come now and be one of the first."

He answered it just fine. What did you want him to do? Raise a gun and scream “death to the CFR?”
