The Fred Thompson Meltdown Continues
JoshuaPundit ^ | 7/30/07 | Freedom Fighter

As more and more of his potential supporters learn about Fred Thompson's choice of open borders advocate and pro-Islamist ex-senator and lobbyist Spencer Abraham as his campaign manager, Thompson's luster as th egreat GOP savior has begun to dim precipitously.

Latest to weigh in are Dymphna at Gates of Vienna, Elaine at Aaron's Rod ( who removed all the Blogs For Fred links to her site) and Deb at Right Truth.

And Michelle Malkin also did a short bit with Laura Ingraham on her national show.

As I said in my piece, no one who's serious about winning the War Against Jihad would want a tool like Abraham anywhere near him.Either Thompson was ignorant about Abraham's background, which means he lacks the judgment to be president, or he knew about it and appointed Abraham anyway...which means that no one who's serious about fighting this war or controlling the borders should remotely consider supporting him.

I think we're done with stealth candidates who talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

From Dec 8th 2005,This was underlined by the Union-Tribune article, "Contractor a master of gaining political access," by Dean Calbreath and Jerry Kammer. It detailed how Cunningham and House Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter, R-El Cajon, worked closely with two local companies – ADCS Inc. of Poway and Audre Inc. of Rancho Bernardo – to make the Pentagon pay for converting printed documents to computer files. They and a few other lawmakers got Congress to allocate $190 million for "automated data conversion" projects from 1993 to 2001.

Did the Pentagon want this "help"? No. As a 1994 General Accounting Office report noted, it already had the tools for such work.

But Cunningham, Hunter and their House allies didn't care. Audre and ADCS were generous with contributions – and ADCS executive Brent Wilkes allegedly was bribing Cunningham. No matter who griped, lawmakers could always add "earmarks" for pet projects to bills and get their way.

What’s really sad is the Hunter is really a “nice” guy with some O.K. credentials. Unfortunately his campaign couldn’t catch fire even if you were to pour gasoline over it. The phrase “pissin’ in the wind” comes to mind.

Hunter is a great guy ... he just lacks breath. He is doing yeoman’s work in the house and I hope he keeps it up. He is truly an emerging leader in the house.

It seems the people dumping on Fred just can’t help themselves. You find a flaw and it’s a mountain, but when you look at the other guy’s mountains, hey that’s not fair.

I’m with Fred.

That is very true, however the thing that is bothering me is the tone this Abraham piece is taking. Fear of the swarthy is a bit much. I don’t give a rats what your position on the WOT and terrorist are, we are better than that.

Three people with better name recognition than vanity candidate Duncan Hunter.

I don’t know what you mean. It is obvious his “campaign” if you can call it that, is in complete disarray and he will fade from our view anytime now.

He has to be the worst not candidate ever...

I don’t want to be associated with the liars and smear artists who seem to be running his FR campaign.
