Heres an endorsement that few Republicans ever get: Trial lawyers strongly supported Fred Thompson when he was in the Senate. "We viewed him as someone we could work with, particularly given he had been an advocate in court for individuals and corporations, and had an innate understanding of what went on in a civil jury," Linda Lipsen, the chief lobbyist for the American trial lawyers lobby group, told the Washington Post. Thats the same group that most Republicans love to hate.
Thompsons background as an attorney made him more understanding of the concerns of trial lawyers and less willing to buy into GOP demagoguery of the profession. For example, Thompson bucked the GOP in not supporting limits on medical malpractice lawsuits.

I say that is interesting alright. Trial Lawyers rank pretty low on FR’s list of folks that is for sure.

Unlike many Republicans during the 1990s, Thompson easily collected large sums of political donations from lawyers during his Senate career -- more than $1.5 million over eight years. The trial lobby's political action committee gave him maximum $10,000 donations during each of his two Senate campaigns. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/25/AR2007072502329.html?hpid=topnews

I think we can get a class action suit against you for defaming trial lawyers.

Good.
I like the idea of a conservative who can gain the support of others outside the usual categories.
By the way, there is a retarded kid in our neighborhood who simply worships my lovely wife. That doesn’t make her retarded.

Could I suppose. My net worth is about five dollars.

I’m not gonna worry about who supports Fred until you come to our side.

Then you’ll be able to sleep worry free.

Thank you, pissant. That’s a relief to hear.
