“Clinton didn’t enter the race until Oct. 4, 1999.”

You mean Clinton was president since ‘93 and didn’t even enter the race until ‘99?? How did that happen? :)

Nope meant 1991 but you knew that since that is the reference date you made to which I was responding. But then we all aren’t perfect are we?...

Polls aren’t a done deal but cite me one where the GOP candidate has done the comebacks you are referencing regarding the Democrats..... different group and the GOP tends to go with long long term mainstays. Poll are good indicators of where one stands at any one time and to be sucking hind teat isn’t the best place. There isn’t a single digit GOP candidate today that will become the 2008 nominee, imo.

That’s why I added the :) to show you I knew it was just a typo. Gotta have some fun.

You know, it’s really way too early to take any polls too seriously.

“As late as MARCH (emphasis mine) of 1980 it wasn’t sure that President Reagan would win the nomination and he was 25 points behind Carter in the national polls. But conservatives kicked up their efforts, won the nomination and won the election in a landslide. We can do it again. It won’t be easy. But it will be well worth the effort.”

From the link: “.. But conservatives kicked up their efforts, ..”

That’s what THIS conservative intends to do.
