Another bugle call associated with morning flag raising is
To the Color. Just wanted to note that for anyone used to hearing that call.

I was floored. I wouldn't stand. . . . Pitt at closing time at Bukowski's.
To: PJ-Comix
Complaining about the National Anthem is the highest form of patriotism. Or something.
To: PJ-Comix
They probably just think you're a jerk, now. An unpatriotic jerk.

To: PJ-Comix
You get treated to the tune twice a day, when the flag goes up, and when it comes down--they DO give you a warning, though, so you can run for cover. . . . RUN AWAY!! RUN AWAY!!

As I mentioned yesterday, the left is only one step away from creating their own
Volksgemeinschaft. Yesterday, we talked about the 'community' aspect of controlling corporations, allowing only those corporations to remain private if they generate goods common good. Another aspect of Volksgemeinschaft was the establishment of
Gleichschaltung practices, where all social and cultural life was controlled. The 'ministry' had divisions to control music, theater, literature, radio broadcasting, the press, visual arts, and film. One of the first things they did was ban the Weimar anthem, flag, and anything else that showed nationalism to the Social Democrats (Weimar) party.
Yes, one was right, we need to learn from history... just make sure you have a clear understanding of history..

I'm tired of war-mongering, and that song is a celebration of a moment in war. OK, so maybe you'd rather be singing "God Save the Queen" right now and have to watch soccer and drink tea.

He probably would have liked it more had then been playing “I Want To Be Sedated” by the Ramones.

Well then, as an antidote, we should practice our own Schaftgemeinvolks and Schaltunggleich, as to add to their immense Freudenschade.

the P.A. system broke into a flag saluting bloisterous voice. . . .May I suggest 'bloister' as the opposite of 'cloister'. Thus, speaking in a bloisterous voice is engaging in loud, rude behavior not representative of a cloistered environment...or so this DUmmie may believe.
Just a suggestion :)

That DUmmie needs a trip through the car wash to cool down. I get subjected to leftist orthodoxy all the time in LA, but I don’t complain to the management. (Maybe I would if it were a government building being used to promote a distinctly political cause, but ... a private car wash?)

More rain this week in South Florida! FANTASTIC! It's great how the heat of the day is completely relieved by the rain. Of course, I plan to sit outside and enjoy it all. Just sitttting in the rain! Watch out for lightning!
To: PJ-Comix
Needless to say, I voiced my opinion on the matter to the management. Told them that I was not at a sporting event, funeral, union meeting, blah blah and asked him when Wagner was scheduled. Told them that the National Anthem blasting at the car dealership was nationalistic and a bit over the top and creepy. What do you think?
I think I would have kicked him/her/it off my car lot.

You caught “flount” (flout/flaunt) and “intrical” (integral/intricate), but you missed “flustrated” (frustrated/flustered).
