Having lost one grandson (I hope temporarily only until he matures) to the hate-America, leftist crowd of college professors who brain-washed him into thinking his country is the worst place in the world to live, I hope I was able to reach his younger brother who is starting college next fall. This younger grandson, Phil, seems more level-headed and normal. He plays basketball for his main hobby unlike his older brother, who is more inclined to the arts.

It’s definitely an uphill battle, that’s for sure. I am currently taking ethics class and I am the only one in the class out of 25 that doesn’t bash America, the “rich”, and Christians. We had an assignment from hell this last week, compare the UN individual rights articles and explain why the US is one of the worst offenders. Intellectual arguments from my left wing classmates were humorous at times, including the following: America still has slavery because people still work at Wal-Mart, the biggest problem the US currently has is the disparity of wealth, and moral relativism is the only way to guarantee world peace. There is actually a non-trad in the class straight from Mexico, and knows just enough English to say “I hate America”. The worst of the class though was when they were dragging the US troops through the mud by saying these outrageous remarks: the US only did this war for an excuse to kill muslims and we send plane loads of islamic “freedom” fighters to Cuba just to torture them for fake information. I still don’t know how I didn’t punch these idiots in the nose after these horrible remarks.
My advise is to make sure he learns subjects on his own outside of class to get the real information. Plus, always paint professors as not experts but rather as people who couldn’t make it in the private sector. Some students in my college are like the sheep in animal farm, they will believe anything the college professors says without critically thinking about it. Every student will get his principles tested in college, make sure they are prepared.
