Romney: Gay couples raising kids is the American way
palmettoscoop.com ^ | 06/06/07 | The Editor

An AP article just came across the wire detailing another gaffe by presidential hopeful Mitt Romney (R-Mass.). Apparently, while in New Hampshire, Romney was confronted by an openly gay women who was disturbed by the former governor’s position on gay marriage. And in challenging him, she may have unwittingly changed or re-changed or re-re-changed his position on “gay rights.”

“There are other ways to raise kids that’s fine: single moms, grandparents raising kids, gay couples raising kids. That’s the American way, to have people have their freedom of choice,” he said.

Umm… what? We’ve lost track now, but we thought Romney opposed gay adoption and gay marriage. We have stopped being surprised by his all-too-often position changes - even from one month to the next - but we certainly never expected him to say “gay couples raising kids” is “the American way.”

Everytime I read the Bible, I happen upon things I glossed over before. Awesome.

Indeed!

I had a dream last night that Mitt Romney left his wife for Kelly Ripa. And at some point during the dream, the three of us were riding in a car, on the way to Roseanne Barr's funeral.

Petronski to JDM: Did you mean to say that out loud? :O)

“I had a dream last night that Mitt Romney left his wife for Kelly Ripa.”

Yikes. I detest Precious, but that’s almost a punishment worse than death. I mean, why not Kelly Monaco ? :-D

She’s on my FReeper page, though my shots of women are PG-rated. She’s a former Playboy playmate and her God-blessed chest has nary a dollop of silicone. ;-D

get over yourself. I didn’t call for any harm to them. are “queer”, fairys”, “homos” no go in your world also? where in the bible am I instructed to refer to them as “gay”? when I was young “gay” meant happy or maybe a little tipsy. they can seek their redemption away from youngsters. who elected you to tell others what to refer to them as? your arrogance is not Christ like and automaticaly disqualifies you from legitimacy on the issue. (to use some of your own words). “such displays of bigotry”? hhmmmm. I think your calling them “gay” is a display of bigotry. I think you need to grow up a bit yourself. I stand by my words and beliefs: faggots should never be allowed near childen period.

She looks a bit (in the face) like Amanda Peet to me. And Amanda Peet is one of my favorites.

I don’t think they look that much alike (maybe a little around the eyes/eyebrows). Kelly is rather tiny and Amanda is relatively tall. Of course Amanda is nearly flat-chested where Kelly is very well-endowed, but they both have nice eyes (Amanda’s windex blue and Kelly’s a smoldering dark brown). Yeah, I look at the eyes, too. ;-D

Just google for "children of gays" and promiscuous by clicking this link, and among the cornucopia of results you'll get this link where of two daughters one turns out gay, and I didn't get any farther.

I glanced at the NYTimes artile. Am I right in guessing the overweight and ugly one is the lesbian and the hot one is straight?

Two studies — one by USC and another by a British sociologist — found that children raised by homosexual couples are more likely to (1) have gender identity confusion and (2) engage in homosexual behavior themselves, putting their own health at dramatically higher risk.

Any epithet used to derisively describe another person is at the least uneducated language. When included in a diatribe such as yours, it’s outright bigotry.

Your bigotry is essentially an emotional reaction rather than an intellectual one. It makes no sense for me to try to dissuade you from such a reaction through the use of logic. I will state, however, that by condemning an entire segment of the human population - instead of doing as you are commanded by Christ and showing compassion and patience and forgiveness - you abrogate to yourself the power of judgement that God has reserved to Himself. Therefore, I recommend that you get over yourself.

I’m done discussing the topic. Good day.
