As we watch in horror as another conservative, Scooter Libby, is railroaded on a criminal matter for what is really a political disagreement, and we see the difference in the way the Democrats react to the indictment of William Jefferson (the man with his freezer full of cash) – versus the forced resignation of Tom Delay on a political indictment, we grow angrier and angrier that Sandy Berger walks free.

Again, Sandy Berger undoubtedly had some information to trade for a light penalty, and he traded it.

My best guess is that he had earlier participated in a hit on "W"'s military records and had "lost" them.

The Air Force miraculously reported finding all of "W"'s records the same week the deal with Sandy was announced.

This little Koinkydink destroyed the Dem attack on "W" related to his military service. I doubt Sandy can ever get a job with the Dems again.

Someone in Justice Department had to have negotiated the deal. Time for Alberto Gonzales to come clean and tell us who it was.

To be more fair. Libby committed perjury, so say the jury. Compare him to another individul that committed perjury while holding down an office of high trust. Compare the penalties.

Now I'm not a lawyer but ... I'm surprised it wasn't overturned on appeal due to the prosecutors closing argument since he was reprimanded by the judge for what he did say. The bell was already rung in the jury's mind.
