Wideawakes is first and foremost a REPUBLICAN site...not a conservative site.

Well, that's for certain, because there are very few conservatives over there and the moderators are vocal anti-conservatives.

And I think it's rather ironic that a bunch of FRiberals would follow a non-American's (MadmanIvan) advise on what is best for the GOP. After all, look at what happened in MadmanIvan's country. The Tory party became dominant under Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher because they were CONSERVATIVE. After she retired, they quickly abandoned all conservative principles and have become such a joke that she wouldn't even support their party leader in the last general election. And that is exactly the same road the GOP will go down if the RINOs get their way.

Ironic and creepy.

Anyone who has visited that site can see that many of the members are former (some current) FReepers, who in my opinion, are liberals. Many of them were Giuliani supporters while they were here, and seem to have continued with that over there. It's their loss, and it seems they realize it.

You’ve got to wonder what’s going to happen to the WAckos when Roody doesn’t get nominated.

They're WAkers...as in Wideawakes...like FreeRepublic members are Freepers and not FReeks.

The Rudybots are but a minority over there from what I've observed. You can find threads supporting all the candidates.

You obviously have a personal problem...having been a cheerleader to have them ostracized from here...and now distraught that they may be talking about you.

Your fixation has become a neurosis.

Cheers!

Well let's see, over at DU they call themselved DUers, we call them DUmmies. So, I don't see any problem calling the liberals at WA WAckos.

and now distraught that they may be talking about you.

They talked about me when I was here, why should I care what they say over there?

See? That was easy, wasn't it? ;^)

IMO, you should print that and tape it to your monitor...or bathroom mirror. It can serve as your daily affirmation!

Cheers!

As much as I hate to jump into this flamewar any deeper, let me remind you that the reason WA's private FR-bashing forums were even brought up was because sofaman claimed that it was unfair to talk about folks here who weren't around to defend themselves.

And according to sofaman, it isn’t an anti-FReeper site.

And as far as DCPatriot’s claim that they were “ostracized” in the bug zapper thread, it needs to be pointed out that Howlin’s infamous “foot on our neck” comment was made in early February. Which I would imagine was around the same time that she and MadmanIvan were organizing their anti-FReeper site.

..I am just sorry that a couple of very nice people felt compelled to jump ship--or in one case maintain dual citizenship, just because their fragile psyche could not tolerate criticism (much deserved) of GWB.

IMHO there is no "elsewhere"--if you love politics and America, FR is home.

The Balkanization of the GOP continues--but it would be better that it crash and burn, and a new conservative party be born than we continue on this road towards "DNC Lite"...

The GOP was in total shambles in the wake of Watergate and then Reagan totally reshaped the party for the better.

ROFL! Now...THAT'S good stuff!

Look everybody...it may be a good idea to think of Salt River as a padded cell where ex-FRiends can go to vent...without disturbing thoughtful threads..and 'honest' folks such as yourself.

FR has already demonstrated their unwillingness to allow STRONG opposing views..there are some that have continuously demonstrated such by labeling long time FRiends 'liberals' because they don't meet your brand of political ideals.

"No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened FROM THE INSIDE. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or by emotional appeal."- MF

I don't wish to discuss this any further. I would rather agree to disagree and let it go at that.

..continuing along your line of thought, I do not think that the Republican Party has to die--but it will take a Reaganesque figure to save it.

It shouldn't be a mystery who I think that is ; - )

I think the “best” man to lead it is probably Duncan Hunter. That being said, Hunter lacks the name recognition to do it. So, the most logical thing to do is have Fred (who certainly comes as close to Reagan’s charisma as anyone I’ve ever seen) take the lead with Hunter as his VP.
