Hour long wait, standing room only to meet Mitt Romney

The Shot has learned that following the GOP state convention, over 400 delegates stood in line for over an hour to meet Governor Romney personally. A Romney staffer told The Shot they expected half the crowd.

These pictures were taken by a Romney supporter.

No, this isnt the line to the American Idols on Tour concert.  This is outside the SC Romney headquarters on Gervais Street in Columbia.

Similar scenes at the Georgia convention this weekend although no Presidential [sic] were allowed to speak to the convention as a whole

People are inspired by hope, optimism.....and change. I am not surprised they are waiting in long lines to meet him.

Mitt is a breath of fresh air.

Looks like he is gaining popularity in South Carolina too. Hopefully this will show up in the polls. If he comes out in the top two, then the race for the nomination is his to lose.

He’s on pace to at least finish top three in Iowa, top two in New Hampshire, and top three in South Carolina. Even with a 3, 2, 3 finish in the openings primaries, that will be good enough to keep him around longer. Nevada and Michigan shortly after should be well for him too (Top Three, Top Two). Florida might be trouble though, lots of Moderates (McCainites), NYers (Giulianites), and Good Ol’ Boys (Thompsonites) in Florida.

That’s good to see. If Fred doesn’t get in the race and our choices come down to Rudy, McInsane or Romney....he’s the only one worth holding your nose for.

I’m not sure if you’ve seen the recent polls, but Romney has the lead in 2 polls in Iowa, leads Michigan, and has a >10 point lead in New Hampshire.

Now yes, these things can turn on a dime, but Mitt has been making lots of ground in states where he has campaigned, even if his national numbers are still a bit behind.

A few wins in the early primaries, and those national figures will jump to where they should have been in the first place.
