I agree. I'm already tired bored and disgusted with the current crop of candidates. Fred should wait a bit then step in to introduce some excitement into the field. I personally am not going to be interested until after Labor Day.
I completely agree. My concern is, what jilted ex-girlfriends are waiting for him to announce so they can go on 20/20 and talk about the first time they had sex with Thompson while Mike Wallace salivates.
I'm not condemning him for this - of all of the questions I have, this is by far the most inconsequential in my opinion. However, what might come out that will make the Christian right decide to stay home? Thompson is getting all the praise for his electability, but that might evaporate quickly.
Word is, all his ex-girlfriends speak highly of him.
AND his ex-wife says she will campaign for him.
Good. That's one question answered. Maybe.
Great ... will she explain his position on McCain-Feingold? Will she clarify his support for NAFTA? Will she answer questions about his background as a lobbyist, in particular the savings and loan legislation he helped craft while working as a lobbyist?
Again, I'm fully prepared to vote for Thompson if he's the nominee, but I think the game he's playing now is to let the conservatives become so invested in him that when his record starts to come out we don't have any choice.
I think you’re getting a little ahead of yourself and my letter. I want Fred Thompson to seek the nomination. I’m not crowning him king yet. I just think he would be a welcome addition to what I see as a rather paltry field, Tancredo’s conservative pedigree aside.
I'm not getting ahead of anything. You, and others, asked me questions that I answered or raised points that I addressed.
I've got concerns about Thompson and many, many people are making up their minds that he's the GOP's guy this year without any of those questions being addressed.
“I completely agree. My concern is, what jilted ex-girlfriends are waiting for him to announce so they can go on 20/20 and talk about the first time they had sex with Thompson while Mike Wallace salivates.”
I know what you are getting at but I also think that give Fred opportunity to go online, and do to Wallace what he did to Michael Moore.
I also think that the American populace would eat that up.
Well, then let’s at least agree that it would be good for him to run.
I'll agree that he needs to be vetted, and I'm ready to see that happen.
LOL...I like Tom, but that IS too much.
