Seen over this weekend, being sold on consignment (no, it's not mine) at a local store:
The Ducati MH900e, which according to this website was "The first 'internet' bike, ... only available thru the Ducati website at midnight at the turn of the century."
Retro styling reminiscent of the 1977 #12 Ducati 900:

Hubby’s out now, on his new (used) BMW. But the bikes I liked best at the showroom were all Ducatis. They had a really glam one, beige with black leather saddle bags. Very girlie, really, they looked like giant makeup cases!
Saw one of those yesterday, too! Very nice.
I bought a 900CR about 15 years ago. I was about 47 at the time. The riding position took about 2 months for my wrists and neck to get used to. That left about 3 months of pain-free riding (short season at 9,000 feet in the Rockies.
Sold it and got a Monster about 4 years later. What a blessed relief. Nah, I didn’t look cool on a crotch rocket but the biking was sure more pleasurable.
Still, nothing like the 60-70’s cafe racer look.
I’m not big Ducati fan ~ they do sound great at full song.
So does my SV650. >:-}
pretty bike, but not one that I’d buy or ride..at my age, I’d throw my back out just trying to lean over to grab the handlebars..
The Suzuki GSX1300R, also known as the Hayabusa, is a hypersport motorcycle introduced by Suzuki in 1999. It has a 1299 cc inline-4 engine rated 175 bhp (129 kW), and was consistently tested as the fastest production motorcycle in the world before the 2001 government de-tuning agreement.
Top speed: 306 km/h (190.2 mph) (Bikes produced post 2000 are electronically speed limited to 300 km/h).
60-80 mph: 3.13 seconds (96.6-128.7 km/h)
80-100 mph: 3.31 seconds (128.7-160.9 km/h)
1/4 mile (402 m): 10.02 seconds @ 143.7 mph (231.3 km/h)
Power: 156.1 hp (116.40 kW) @ 9500 rpm at the rear wheel
Thrusters? :-)~~
Thrusters reminded me of the robot from Short Circuit.
And it’s not in your garage becaaaauuuuuuuse.......?
I’ve ridden one ~ any bike with that handlebar configuration doesn’t work with my old (76) arthritic body.
Standard types still work, though. >:-}
It’s a real super adrenaline rush!!
I like what I’m riding. >:-}
Because the owner was asking something like $18K for it, and I ain't got that kinda cake.
You silly man.
Come on MF ~ if I had your money, I would burn mine. >:-}
Styling reminds me of when I was young, which, in turn, reminds me that I am now old with no more European cafe desires. Still love the sound of em, though, on the odd times when they zip by my wing!
