Anyone knows an actual agent who deals in the fantasy genre.

How about this guy?

You did say Fantasy, right?! Sorry, had to do it. :O)

Sounds like good advice from Yo-Yo. You can also go to the library and look at an expensive paperback called Literary Market Place. All the publishers are listed, and at the end of each entry is a note on what they publish. Same for agents. Good luck!

Want my advice? (It’s worth *every* penny you pay for it. Okay — it’s free, but I have managed to get four books published, without an agent.)

Submit it to Baen Books. You can find guidelines for submitting manuscripts at: http://www.baen.com/FAQS.htm

Baen is new-author friendly. Does not mean they will accept your manuscript. Does not even mean they will reply. But John Ringo (who is a Freeper) got first published by them and is now on their “A” list.

My bet is that if your manuscript *really* is as devastating as you think it is that Baen will pick it up.

But you have to be good. Very good — in the top 3%. I am a pretty good writer, better than 9 out of 10, (around 89th percentile, I would guess). That puts me in the publishing equivalent of the Triple-A minors, but I am not good enough for the majors.

marking....(I have a few fantasy type novels floating in my head as well and am going to glom off any advice you get)

I have several ideas but very little time to do anything about it right now, I wish you all the best and remember your FRiends when you hit the big time:)

Have you read Stephen King's "On writing"? There's some excellent advice in there about nurturing a literary career, marketing yourself and your writing, etc.

A&R website and Preditors and Editors website are places to find agents/publishers... and there’s always Writers Digest. I’m counting over three hundred rejections so I can offer little real help—I will say my genre’s aren’t fantasy—so maybe you’ll have a better chance.
I’ve seen many listings for such work and hope it works for you.
At least three of my novels are being published by SAGA (Canadian E-publisher)—and still have a couple out—go for a while and then send, wait, go for a while and send more...
You could hit it much quicker and I hope you do.
