"The GOP DEbate Proves that the Party Needs Fredmentum!"
GreatMindsThinkRight.com ^ | 5/6/07 | Doug Hagin

After watching the Presidential debacle, I mean debate between the Republican candidates I have reached a few very simple conclusions about presidential debates, candidates, the guts of today’s GOP and MESSNBC

The first conclusion I reached is that MSNBC should never, ever, under any circumstances, be allowed to host any debate ever again. Certainly, MSNBC must never be in any way involved in any debate as important as a presidential debate. In addition, they should be deemed unfit to host any high school debates, debates over who makes the best BBQ, debates as to the best mouthwash, or debates on any subject, anytime or anywhere!

Fredmentum, I took that stuff once... nasty chalky flavor but blocked me right up.

“Duncan Hunter is a nice man - good on issues...”

He is not very good on government spending.

Duncan Hunter is a nice man - good on issues...

but

He has the personality of dry white toast.

He's also a bit too culturally conservative to appeal to voters under 50 who are less than strongly religious. That's a killer in the general election.

Thompson doesn't have that liability, and like Reagan his Hollywood ties make culturally libertarian voters more comfortable about his views.

That’s very well said.

I have not seen any polls about Fred Thompson’s face or name recognition.

I bet more people know his face than his name.

You think?

The Hunt For Red October and No Way Out have been on heavy rotation on cable lately.

That is my homemade bumpersticker I made in about 10 minutes using PowerPoint.

FReepmail me your regular e-mail and I'll send you the .jpg and PowerPoint files.

FDT played an admiral in the movie Hunt for Red October. His memorable line was, "Son, the Russians don't take a dump without a plan."

His face and his voice...yep.

Has he ever played a "bad guy", or even a character that was a little sleazy? I don't think so, even in No Way Out he came across as ruthless but fundamentally principled.

Hmm - bad guy - not that I know of.

There was something in the L.A. Times a while back - about some movie he did 19 years ago - who cares.

Nope - he’s always been on the “right” side.

I am not registered as a Republican, but Independent, so I really have no say-so in the matter. I just might change my registration if Fred throws in his hat........

I cloned the Reagan 1980 bumper sticker, simple and yet, perhaps, subliminal.

Apparently he played a racist in a tv show nearly 20 years ago. They have tried banging that drum, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Yes, he played a "white supremacist neo-Nazi" in a handful (3?) of episodes for TV's Wiseguy in 1988.

LOL! Of all people to forget about "Knox Cooley" I should be the last because Wiseguy is one of my favorite serieses ever.

IIRC, the Cooley character wasn't even a "real" racist. He was a huckster scamming money from those ignorant enough to be, ended up helping the Feds bring down the actual terrorists in his organization, and got away free to end up selling timeshares or some such thing.

No, I’m not John the Baptist. Nor do I believe he’s the Lord, Ronald Reagan revisited, or whatever. I’m just a guy who wants Fred to know (I suspect he has people monitoring these threads) what support there is out there at this juncture.
