I saw a report on the news this morning and the game is a pretty obvious replica of the school. I really have to wonder what kind of twisted individual would model a school in a shooter game.

In case of point, I know some HL players that have discussed doing just this. None of them were threats to anyone, nor were they twisted. You don't know what you're talking about.

Well, counter strike is a “Counter Terrorist vs Terrorist” multi-player game over either a LAN or internet.
And while the ‘adults’ in my area are loathe to talk about the possibility of terrorism in the classroom, the kids have been talking about it for quite some time.
Likely there have been school based maps for quite awhile, just the Virginia Tech event made people touchy about it.
Not excusing it, just stating that it likely has been ‘out there’ for awhile.

Probably because it was a large building that he is intimately familiar with.

Our gun club did a scenario that had a Beslan-like school takeover by terrorists. We had to figure out the best way to take them down with minimum “casualties.” Sometimes the good guys (and girls) might have a reason for modeling a school.

I really have to wonder what kind of twisted individual would model a school in a shooter game. Back in the day I designed D&D campaigns using terrain/featurs adapted directly from 1:10000 Ordnance Survey Maps.
1. It's easier
2. It gives the gane a bssis of "real world featrures possible" 3. It's easier.
So to answer your question: a twisted individual like me,

Considering the school is the biggest building teenagers spend their time in, my money's on "a lot."

A twisted individual would model a shooter game based upon the mental hospital he resides in.
In other words, this kid broke no laws, and everyone responsible for harassing him should have their names and faces featured in a shooter game.

I really have to wonder what kind of twisted individual would model a school in a shooter game. My buddy & I were going to model a local university campus (I went there - he worked there). It's just kinda cool to see familiar territory in a game. It's kind of like flying over your town in flight simulator. It has nothing to do with being sick in the head.
