When it comes to health freedom, this is the FDA's end game. A new FDA "guidance" document, published on the FDA's website, reveals plans to reclassify virtually all vitamins, supplements, herbs and even vegetable juices as FDA-regulated drugs. Massage oils and massage rocks will be classified as "medical devices" and require FDA approval. The document is called Docket No. 2006D-0480. Draft Guidance for Industry on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and Their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA is accepting public comments on the docket until April 30th. They tried to sneak this under the radar, but word got out and now the natural health community is up in arms over this rule. If you wish to protect your access to nutritional supplements, herbs, essential oils, homeopathic medicine or any other "complementary" or "alternative" modality, it is crucial that you take action to post your comments with the FDA right now and write your representatives in Washington to put a stop to this outrageous effort to destroy natural medicine. (And be sure to really write them. Just sending an email has virtually no impact compared to writing a physical letter in your own words.)

This move by the FDA is designed to once and for all destroy the 1994 DSHEA law that has made supplements "legal" while eliminating nutritional supplements and natural medicine from the United States, ensuring monopoly profits and control by drug companies and the FDA. It is the latest action item by the FDA / Big Pharma conspiracy that will not stop until health freedom has been abolished, drug companies rule the nation, and every citizen is diagnosied with a fictitious disease and drugged up on monopoly-priced pharmaceuticals.
Much more at the article site above.
If they get their way, YOU WILL NEED A PRESCRIPTION FOR VITAMIN C!!!!
Yet another *Big Gov* intrusion in the private lives of American citizens. Corp lobbyist in motion.
Most people don’t understand what’s happening.
I’ve read CFR articles where they describe how world government will be instituted.
It won’t be with guns or bombs.
It will be by making the laws in all the countries so similar that for all intents and purposes, there is no difference between them. That’s why they tried to amend the patent laws. That’s why they’re trying to worldwide standardize the drug laws.
Thats probably why they are screwing with the bankruptcy laws.
NWO/NAU
All under the guise of the free flow of goods and services.
THIS IS A CRUCIAL ISSUE THAT PROBABLY AFFECTS OR COULD EASILY AFFECT EVERY FREEPER AND LURKER.
Thanks in advance.
Actually, the corporate lobbyists already bought the legislation they wanted when they were able to keep herbal supplement snake oil from the FDA's authority in the '90s.
BTTT
Do you love the Post Office, Amtrack, . . . too?
The internet saved more pets lives than any regulatory body.
BIG GOVERNMENT IS NOT A FREEPER PREFERENCE by a long shot.
I couldn't care less how many gullible idiots get sick or die from the next 'ephedra'
I care about gullible idiots. I just don’t think the FDA is a wonderful protector.
Thanks for your kind reply.
INDEED.
THE ENCHROACHING STRAIGHT JACKETS . . . OF THE GLOBAL ASSYLUM . . . RAN BY THE CHIEF DEMONIC CRAZIES.
“If they get their way, YOU WILL NEED A PRESCRIPTION FOR VITAMIN C!!!!”
Thank you for calling it “snake oil”. As 1 who has been surfing health boards for a year with medical problems, I’ve seen constantly people desperately seeking “cures” or at least help (amazing how snake-oil people always say it’s a “cure”) with “natural” (so is hemlock) remedies.
In some ways I’m against the FDA but others for it. I think drugs are very important to watch over.
I think most of the “natural remedies” aren’t so much dangerous as a major rip-off.
People whine about “drug companies” having some “monopoly” and getting all the “big bucks”, but amazing they NEVER think about the huge profits (not that that’s bad) gleaned by these “natural” producers - THEY HAVE NO RESEARCH TO DO, so they make a good deal of money bilking people.
Anyway, back to the quoted line:
Where does it say you’ll need a prescription for Vitamin C?
You don’t need a prescription for Bayer aspirin. It’s off-the-shelf. Not all regulated drugs are “prescription only”.
Scare tactics.
Scare tactics.

Yes and no.
Also basic human nature with bureaucracies to take more and more and more power.
I’m increaingly libertarian when it comes to regulations and regulatory bodies—especially at the Federal level.
The drug companies and the FDA COULD have done a LOT more to enhance available compounds and supplements that are effective etc. Money still talks and sways lawmakers all kinds of ways.

You didn’t thoroughly read my post.
“Natural” (so is hemlock and snake venom) so-called “cures” may not be as bad as some drugs can be. (But then, they are not regulated to ensure best potency, thus better enabling rip-offs.) But real drugs are researched for usefullness. And they’re regulated to ensure both the best safety possible AND that you’re not getting ripped off with low-concentration recipes.
These “natural” boondoggles are just that - boondoggles. Major rip-offs.
And sometimes, they ruin your health.
Anyone that says something will cure all or at least even relieve all is full of it. That’s common with this nonsense.

Thanks much.

Well, in fact most “natural” cures or supplements have been very, very researched.
I’ve looked at the PUBMED abstracts for dozens of natural type remedies, like St. Johns Wort, Echinacea, etc.
In ALMOST EVERY case, you find that the herb/supplement DOES HAVE SOME EFFICACY.
I don’t sell anything and I’m not in it for the money. But I DO take supplements, and can feel the difference if I miss a few days.
Some things DO work. What do you think is behind many, many “drugs”? They are all natural, at heart.
“Research” my foot. Check it again. Maybe only incidental research by real scientists and doctors. They aren’t AT ALL like real “drugs”.
You’re not even guaranteed you’re getting the same (useful) concentration, even within the very same “product” of the same brand!
Some things help, but they are not nearly all helpful and they aren’t researched SERIOUSLY nor ensured to be of proper concentration.
Again, as most of these things do, anything that claims to solve XXXX myriad of problems is full of it.
It’s a rip-off at least, and sometimes it’s dangerous, even if maybe rarely.
